Jared felt the pit in his stomach grow. It hurt so badly to know that no one will come looking for you.

He just kept on running...

...Until he tripped. He found himself in some forest. Tear stains still visible on his face. It was 7:46 pm and it was getting dark. He was lost in a forest at night with just his phone and money.

He kept walking, hoping to find something to stay the night in.

Eventually it got so late, he couldn't see anything. It was too cloudy to show the moon it stars.

Jared sat down and just read old texts from Evan on his phone.  He started crying once again, missing the sweet boy who he hasn't talked to in months. He eventually cried himself to sleep wondering, why did this have to happen to me?

In the morning Evan woke up, seeing some texts from Connor. He giggles to himself texting back without a care in the world, before getting ready for school.

Evan was talking to Connor, not listening to the teacher taking attendance, but when the teacher called his name he said 'here'

He didn't notice when the teacher said,
"Kleinman, Jared?
Is Jared heere today?
Probably just skipped school..."

No one really noticed nor did they think it was important or anything. No one would even think that he might've run away.

Jared just kept on going. Because if he just kept on going, only thinking about each step he took, he wouldn't have Evan on his mind and he wouldn't have to think about how alone and insignificant he was.

He eventually got out of the forest. He decided that he needed food, and to pee...

He found a 7/11 (@ JD)

He got a slushy, a cold sandwich and he used the restroom.

Jared had no destination. He had no where to go. He would just go forward until he saw somewhere he could hide forever.

That slushy and the sandwich were all he had to eat/drink that day.

Evan didn't notice Jared's absence at lunch because for a while now, Jared had just sat at the opposite end keeping to himself.

Weeks later...

Jared had one meal a day. But even so he knew he'd need money. He got a job at Sonic.

Everything he did was just to stay alive. His eyes didn't shine or lighten up. They never did. Now they were just dull and lifeless. Like he was some kind of zombie.

He didn't even know or care what state or city he was in. Wherever he went, he went. Wherever he left, he never came back.

But he always felt incomplete.
Like his life was missing something important.
But the thing he was missing was far, far behind.

So so so far...
