Jared had no clue where in New York he would go, so he decided to just go to the same stop that lil Sam went to.

They eventually got to their stop and walked out of the metro. Jared got caught in the crowd due to his crutches. He was worried that he'd lose yet another friend.

Sam held his mommy's hand as they went through the crowd. Sam looked back to check on Jared. When he looked, he saw that Jared's leg-helpy-thingies were slowing him down. He tugged on his mommy's hand and pointed at Jared whining slightly. She sighed

"Okay Sammy we can wait for your friend."

"Yayyyyy!!!! Oh, when are we gonna see uncle Sammy and Uncle Charlie and their cool friends???"

She smiled at the smol child

"We're meeting your uncles at a coffee shot downtown and I'll leave you with them. Do you know where your friend lives?"

"His name is Jared, but no. But I know he doesn't have a mommy and his friends left him because they're stupid heads"

Jared caught up with the two and they continued walking, slowing their pace so he can keep up.

They arrived at the coffee shop. Jared looked at Sam to see if he recognized anyone as his uncles.

"Awe moooooommy! They're not here yet."

He frowned.
The woman checked her watch and turned to the teen boy.

"Shoot... I have to go or I'll miss the metro. Jared, I'm sorry but if you don't mind, could you watch Sammy until his uncles get here? I understand if you have things to do or if it's a burden but-"

"Hey, don't worry about it. I can totally watch him. He's a joy to be around."
Jared smiled at her

She sighed with relief as she turned to go.

"Thank you so much. Sammy, be a good boy for your uncles and don't bother Jared too much sweetie. I love you"

She left.

"Hey Jared? Do you have a house?"

Sadness flashed through the older boy's eyes

"Um, no. I kinda left home."

He awkwardly averted his eyes, looking away from the red headed child.

"Why would you leave? Don't you love your daddy? Do you have siblings? Don't you love them?"

Sam's voice sounded sad.

Jared inhaled

"You probably won't understand this now, and you probably won't until you're older, but my parents are gone. I'm an only child. I live with my alcoholic uncle and he's barely home anyways. No one misses me back home and I had no place back home. So I left."

Sam looked sad and confused.

"I'm sorry that you believe that, but if no one back home loves you, just know that you're loved here! You're my bestest friend!"
He suddenly inhaled as a brilliant idea came.
"I SHOULD ASK MY UNCLES IF YOU CAN STAY WITH US!!!"

He bounced with excitement.

Jared's face looked utterly shocked.

"U-um you really like me? And y-you're actually willing to ask your uncles if I can stay with you?"

Sam nodded energetically.

Jared felt himself tear up a little. This kid actually liked him enough to let him stay. It took a while for that to register in him mind, but when it did, he hugged the smol bean.

Sam hugged back.

Jared stood up straight(gay) again and wiped his eyes.

Jared suddenly heard the little bell on the door ring and he saw two men that looked in their early twenties. One had orangish brown hair and the other had dark brown hair. The orange haired one was slightly taller than the brown haired man.

"UNCLE SAMMY! UNCLE CHARLIE!"

Sam excitedly screamed way too loudly as he ran over to his uncles.

They kneeled and hugged him.

"Hey Sammy boy!"
"Hi smol Sam!"

The child huffed, crossing his short arms.

"I'm not smol. I'm six and I'm a growing boy so I need my veggies. At least that's what mommy tells me."

"Well," Samuel started, "your mommy is totally right! Charles, what do you have to say to Sam?"

Charles looked down with fake shame.

"I'm sorry for calling you Sam"

Sam giggled and kissed his uncle's forehead.

"It's oke I forgive you already!
OH! Did you see my bestest friend yet???"

He pointed to Jared who was awkwardly standing a few feet away.

The men looked at him.

"I don't believe so, who is this Sam?"
Charles asked.

"This is Jared, my bestest friend! He's gay too! Tell them about you Jared! Tell them!"

Jared came closer as Sam bounced in place.

"Uh hi. I'm Jared Kleinman. I'm 18. I had a dream of going to college and studying computer science, but that kinda went down the drain along with my whole life. I met Sam here when I was on a park bench and he said hello to me and I met him again when I was on the metro getting here. And he's my bestest friend."

"Okay. I'm Samuel Seabury-Lee and I'm twenty four. I have a degree in medicine and nursing. I've been married to Charles for a few months and it's pretty great. Sammy is my brother David's child, therefore he is my nephew. You seem nice by the way and it's very nice of you to stay here with Sammy, his mom texted me about how she had to leave."

Jared awkwardly laughed
"It's no problem... really..."

"Oh I should probably introduce myself. I'm Charles Seabury-Lee and I'm twenty four. I have a degree in cooking and psychology. I'm married and going strong with Samuel witch makes Sam my nephew. And Sam, you seem like you want to say something, what is it?"

Lil Sam looked at Charles and Samuel with hope.

Jared felt sweat drip on his face.

"Jared doesn't have a house and I wanted to see if my dearest uncles would allow him to stay with us pretty please???"

He used puppy dog eyes. Damn. He knew Samuel couldn't resist the eyes.

"Sounds fine by me."
Charles said.

"As long as he approves, then I do too. Besides, we have room in our town house."

Both Sam and Jared's eyes lit up with happiness.

"THANK YOU THANK YOU THAAAAANK YOOOOUU!"
Sam hugged the men.

Samuel looked at the joyous teen, waving his hand to beckon him over. Jared joined the hug and tensed at first, but relaxed into it.

"Let's go home, shall we?"
Charles proposed.

Jared nodded, feeling like he belonged.
