When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'.They said I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.

It's Monday morning and I'm getting ready for school. If only I paid attention to dad when he was trying to teach me how to put on a tie. I took more than 30 minutes trying to figure it out. I guess I'll be late for my first day of school. When I'm all done putting on my uniform, I look into the mirror and smile. It's only two more years.
“Rouge come on you'll be late for school! ” mom shouted at the top of her voice.
I quickly grab my bag and head downstairs to eat my breakfast. I get to the kitchen to find Davey already opening the door to get out and my mom grabbing her bag.
“Morning Rouge, no time to eat. Here, eat an apple. ” she said giving me an apple and literally dragging me towards the door.
Mom drops Davey first and he looks a bit confident for someone who's starting in a new school in a new country in a new Continent and the chances of him knowing anyone is zero.
“Bye my love, be good! ” mom said before driving along.
After Davey got off, a lot of questions flooded my head. What if they all judge me? What if my skirt is too long? What if my bag is overrated? What if I can't keep it low key?
“Okay Rouge we're here. ” my mom said , getting me back to reality. “ Have fun! ” she said when I had gotten out of the car and drove off before I could say goodbye. Typical mom. She must be excited for her first day at the hospital.
I go towards the entrance of the building while people rush in and out. I finally make my way inside. The place is busy with people roaming around. Mom told me that my locker number is 54 so my locker has to be upstairs. I make my way upstairs and some blonde bumps into me.
“Geez, did you lose your glasses? ” she asked me. Is it just me or everyone I accidentally bump get all vicious and almost rip off my head.
“Umm yeah, I think I left them on my bed. So what's your excuse? ”
“I clearly don't need an excuse coz you bumped into me! Anyway I don't have time for no good bitches like you. I actually have a life. Hey, umm you should get one too. ” she said before she pushed me out of her way. Wow Rouge, way to make things low key.
I finally get to my locker without harming myself or anyone. I check my timetable on my tab and fill my locker with books I won't need for the first period.
“Hey you must be new here. ” someone said behind me and as I turned to see who it was, Tessie was standing right in front of me.
“Umm yes I am, you mind if you give me a quick tour some time? ” I said.
“I'd love to. Oh I'm Tessie by the way. ” she said humouredly.
“I'm Rouge.” I said laughing which made her laugh. I close my locker and we walk to our classes.
