After my date with Dick, I went back to my room to go shower and changed into another outfit for dinner. I wore a pair of dark jeans with a white tshirt and some sandals.
I saw Artemis and Megan sitting down at the dinner table already with an open seat saved for me. As I began walking towards the seat, I grabbed the top when another hand grabbed it at the same time and sat down.
"Oh sorry Zatanna, was this your seat?"
"Yes it is Barbara, so can you please move?"
"Hmm let me think about it... no. Sorry 'Zee' but I just don't care."
"Were you spying on my date with Prince Dick?"
"So what?"
"What do you mean, 'So what?' ?! You completely invaded our privacy!"
At this moment Barbara got up out of the seat and stood face to face with me.
"Listen up here Bludhaven. Dick is mine, got it? We've known each other for ages, so I'm an automatic shoo in for Queen. And I don't want you getting in my way. You don't deserve the crown."
"News flash Gordon. This is the Selection. We're all here to compete for the crown and be Queen. And congrats on being a 'shoo in' for Queen, but with that personality of yours, you'll be a Queen that no one wants."
The rest of the girls began cheering and I rightfully took back my dinner seat with Barbara storming off somewhere else.
I then began eating dinner with Artemis and Megan, when they asked how my date with Dick went.
"It was great! Our date took place at the gym which was pretty, um, unique, but we taught each other some tricks there. He taught me some of his acrobat moves and in return I taught him some magic tricks. And we kissed a little here and there."
"OMG!"
"Megan, keep it down!"
"Sorry. Hello Megan!"
"Anyways, that's pretty much it. Has he asked you guys out on dates yet?"
Artemis answered first: "He hasn't asked me yet. What about you Megan?"
"He actually asked me out on a date for next week."
"That's great! And don't worry Arty, I'm sure he'll ask you out soon. I think I'll be happy as long anyone but Barbara becomes Queen." I said.
The three of us laughed it off and then headed back to our rooms to go to sleep.
