A Grayson Selection (Young Justice- Chalant Fanfic)

Chapter Fourteen

After Dick proposed, the whole plan was unraveled. He explained to me how he hosted the Selection in hopes he'd get to see me again. When I questioned what he meant by again, he explained that he met me once at one of my father's magic shows. He said that he was unable to take his eyes off me throughout the show but he never got the chance to ask for my name. Until now.

Turns out all my friends I made in the Selection already knew about the plan as well. Apparently Artemis was already dating Dick's best friend Wally and she never told me about it, Megan was dating Connor, the bodyguard I caught eyeing her that one time, Raven was with Garfield (Beast Boy) another one of Dick's bodyguards and Raquel was with Aqualad, another of Dick's bodyguards. Dick had asked Barbara to be purposely mean in order to test me. Apparently his family needed to see if I was mature enough and able to stand up for myself and man am I glad I was able to.

All this time, I was already chosen to be his queen and I didn't even know it. And now we're here a year later at our wedding.

I was able to pay the hospital bills for my parents and they were overjoyed that I was going to become queen. Turns out they were actually childhood friends with Bruce and Selina too.

Everyone in the kingdom had turned up for our wedding. The news was claiming it to be "The Wedding of the Century!"

I took a long look at myself in the mirror wearing my wedding dress and holding a bouquet of dark blue roses.

My dad knocked on my door and came in.

"Zatanna. My baby girl, you look stunning. Dick should consider himself lucky to be getting married to someone as wonderful as you."

"Thanks Dad."

We walked out and I saw my bridesmaids all wearing the navy dress I picked out.

"Are you ready Zatanna?" Artemis asked.

"Ready as I'll ever be."

Artemis walked through the church first, arms linked with Wally.

Megan and Connor followed next, then Raven and Garfield, then Raquel and Aqualad, and then Barbara and Jason.

Last but not least, I walked through the church gripping onto my father's arm. My eyes wandered across the entire church as the wedding march began playing. My eyes met Dick's and cerulean clashed with cerulean. I noticed that Wally had taken his place next to Dick as the best man and the other men followed suit. Artemis was on the opposing side with the rest of my bridesmaids.

I finally reached the front of the church and my father had let go of me and went to his seat where my mother was. I gave them both a smile and focused my gaze towards Dick.

A smile spread across his face and mine.

"You look gorgeous." he whispered.

"Thanks, you don't look so bad yourself." I joked.

And thus the wedding began. Until the important part came.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife! You may now kiss the bride!"

Dick pulled me close to him and we shared a passionate kiss as our families and friends erupted into cheers.

Dick and I walked down the church and got into the limo to meet everyone at the reception back at Gotham Castle.

When we got back to Gotham Castle, I changed into a shorter white dress.

"Are you ready Mrs. Grayson?"

"Why yes I am Mr. Grayson."

And we walked into the ballroom hand in hand and danced the night away, living our happily ever after.
