Ron had been living at the Burrow still, according to Harry, with the occasional visits from Hermione once their relationship had fully blossomed. It was cute, honestly. Also something I wasn't expecting from our little Wonald.
Harry had decided that Ron had probably taken the time-turner from Hermione without her knowledge sometime after the Battle at Hogwarts and had turned back in time to save him.
But little did he know, he probably saved a lot of other people that we didn't need around again.
"Just keep it calm when you talk to him. He's still sensitive about the whole you dying thing," he directed towards Fred.
Fred looked like he was going to blow steam out of his ears. "Obviously I'm alive, Harry, that is no excuse not to be disappointed in my brother." I mean he had a good point.
Ron was in the old quidditch field in the back of the house. Without saying hi to Mrs. Weasley ("Oh I promise I'll be back, Molly. You can feel my stomach for hours after we interrogate your youngest son.") we head back there and was face to face with both Ron and Hermione, something we weren't expecting.
Ron was flying his broomstick, practicing his technique while pretending to ooh, ahh, and cheer whenever he made a point. If things weren't so serious at the moment, I would have laughed and done something to disappoint his still-apparent dreams, but honestly, I was just too damn tired to even crack a smile.
"Ronald. Bilius. Weasley," Xyla shouted up because sometimes Xyla shouted and that was a thing.
He noticed the group of people on the ground and stifled a groan, from what I could tell. He knew he was in trouble, just by looking at Xyla's face, who was by far the most disappointed. Probably because this is the first time she has talked to her parents in awhile and it wasn't in the way she probably wanted to talk to them.
Ron flew down and landed on the weeds growing on the ground. Hermione closed the book she was reading and hurried over to us as well.
"Oh my god, Ana, you're huge!" Hermione exclaimed.
I cringed. "Thanks, Hermione. But some pointers for next time. Please do not ever say that to me again. I'm already well aware of it."
"Ron, what have you done?" Xyla yelled, tears already welling up in her eyes from the anger we all sort of felt at the moment.
He looked at us questioningly. "Wut? Oh hi nice to see you all again, it's been months, I missed you guys too..." He kept blabbering.
I thought, since I needed to be the calmest in the situation, I would butt in at that moment. "You know who we ran into today?"
Ron's eyebrow went up. Fred tensed beside me, thinking that I was about to blow.
"Xyla's parents came to visit us. We had a nice little chat." I was pacing at this point. "Had some coffee, rekindled old flames. Oh and they decided to drop the Hiroshima on us that my mother is alive and breathing again." Okay, maybe I couldn't keep calm.
Ron's eyes closed, as if he was smacked across the face. Hermione started to pull away from us entirely, trying to keep some distance as if I would blow up.
Actually, I was starting to blow up. I felt fire coursing up and down my arms. Fred rubbed my back and told me to settle down, reassuring that things were fine.
"That is a problem," Ron said. "Why would you think I have anything to do with this?"
"Oh don't play dumb, Ronald," George spat.
"I'm not playing dumb, I'm not going to be accused of something I did not do!"
And all of a sudden there was a full blown argument. I put my head in my hands to stop from yelling as well and when I did yell I was taken aback by what I had to say. "THIS IS WHAT HARRY WARNED US ABOUT." Harry was nodding behind me. "We can't keep fighting like this every day of our lives, guys. They're breaking us apart." That last word broke me.
Fred was dumbfounded. He came over and burrowed me up to his chest, apologizing. George ran his fingers through Xyla's hair and Ron dropped his arms to his side. "I know you may think I could do something like this, seeing as how heartbroken I was when you didn't wake up. But you can't give me so much credit, I was the dumbest in our year."
"No, that was Neville," someone said.
Hermione still hadn't spoken so all of our ears perked when she said those words that shook us to the core. "I brought him back."
My hand dropped to my sides and my eyebrows furrowed in pain.
"I couldn't see you guys like that. I know that I'm not supposed to use the time-turner for my own personal gain, but I like to think it helped out the world a lot. We would not have been able to cope without Fred in our lives. Ron was completely devastated, along with all of the Weasleys' but seeing Ana just get up and leave all of us really pushed me to do it. We would not have been able to live without either one of you guys, no matter how much you push us to commit unspeakable things."
"Oh wow no credit for me huh?" George grumbled. Xyla elbowed him in the stomach.
"I don't know why these things are happening but I would not take back a single thing because I don't see it as a mistake. And I think you guys would have done the same thing if you had the means," Hermione finished.
I couldn't even argue because, while I did agree with her, I felt all of that pain without Fred. I lived my life thinking he'd never come back and something selfish happened that gave him back to me. I didn't think I deserved a second chance, but I got it and I am so grateful.
"Mione, this is so dangerous," Harry said, sadly. No one had the feeling to yell at this moment. "But I must agree that I would have done the same."
The clock in my head was ticking and all of a sudden I spoke. "I have an idea. Follow me." I grabbed Fred's hand and interlaced our fingers, and started dragging him towards our old spot by the pond. The one with the big tree that we haven't visited in months. No one questioned me as I stopped in front of the water, piled some wood together and started a fire. I was the first to sit down on a log.
"We're going to brainstorm because that's what we do best. And I'm not about to lose anybody for a second, or first, time."
A/N: I'm back bitches.
