"What do you mean?" I ask Xanthus.

"Hmm, well since you're going to die anyways and also I'm nice. I might as well tell you," He says with a calm deep tone. "That necklace belongs to me. I made it."

I'm in a disbelief. He couldn't have made that. Olivia had it since she was six, I remember her walking in the classroom like she was the Queen of England or something.

"No, it was a gift from her father!" I yell.

He laughs. "No no. It was stolen from me when you left. Someone knew that the necklace was too powerful. Now, I want it back. I'm trying to be nice to you here. I won't get to you unless you give me what I want."

Pfft, right, "nice" to me. I don't trust him. Even though he is charming about it and not slicing me in half.

"Look," He continues. "I'm sorry that we've been doing this to you. Just hand over the necklace and you'll have your normal life back."

He has a devious looking smile while saying this. I don't trust him at all. I immediately step back as a sign of saying no. He turns his smile into an annoyed look. He steps forward with his chest out.

"Rogers has poisoned your brain into thinking you're the good guys. How shameful." He says with a snare.

No, they are the bad guys. Why then have they destroyed my planet. I was supposed to rule them with honor and he burnt it to the ground.

"No. No, I will never trust you ever!" I yell.

He takes offense to that. He takes another step forward and speaks with harshness.

"You will give me that necklace!" He shouts.

He takes his staff and brings it up higher with his metal arm. He's probably going to fire his laser. I run back and sprint towards the Lincoln Monument. He starts to fly towards me. I make a mental note while running about his own powers. I go inside and hide behind the big Lincoln chair. Xanthus quickly knows where I am and fires his laser at the chair. Stone comes flying out of the chair and nearly hits me in the head. I run out of the Monument and head for the Washington Monument Lake area. Luckily, Xanthus is still in there. He doesn't know I fled. I hide behind the Washington Monument and rest for a bit to collect my thoughts. How was he the one to make the necklace, and how did it get here? This is all too much for me to handle. I need to wake up.

I look around to see how I'll be able to wake up. As soon as I stop to think, Xanthus fires another laser and hits behind where I was hiding, making me fly outward and on the the Lake part of the Monument. I fall back first onto the water and lay there for a while. I'm super sore now, everything hurts. Xanthus walks up to me, holding out his staff like a gun towards me.

"Any last words?" He says menacingly.

He's directly in front of me and I smell his breath again. It's minty. At least he did that finally.

"Uh, thank God you put a mint in your mouth. Jeez man." I say.

He looks at me then smirks. He takes the staff and stabs me in the chest. That's when I wake up with a jolt while Nathan is shaking me, telling me to get up. I get up and I'm woken up by heavy metal. I think it's Mötley Crüe that's playing right now.

"Hey, wake up. We're almost there." He says.

"Wait, what can you make exactly?" Mariah says with curiosity in her voice.

We are both in the barn, hooking up a microphone and a radio together to connect to Rose and the others via radio waves. We don't the necessary parts for a radio transmitter like what the truck guys have but this will have to do.

"It's basically where I can communicate with them via this radio." I say.

"Neat." She replies.

She's excited to build this with me. She thinks that she might be more useful instead of being just a love interest. I'm happy for her.

"You know, you're really awesome Rogers." She says.

"Oh, why thank you!" I say back.

I pat her on the back and tell her to get the tools and she hands me the requested tools I've asked for. She's really nice, I can tell why Rose loves her so much. After awhile, we are done with the radio. I just guess on what radio station they're on. I keep on interrupting someone else's radio station just to find them. I try not to give our position away. So, I just say "Testing, 1, 2, 3. I Heart NY" since that's what I'm still wearing. I need more clothes.

I test all the radio stations until I find one that's playing Mötley Crüe. That's perfect, I bet they're listening to that. I tune into that radio station, making sure others don't listen in.

"Testing 1, 2, 3. I Heart NY." I say.

After hearing nothing for awhile, I've given up hope. Mariah Pat's me in the back.

"At least we tried, huh?" She says with a sad tone to it.

"Yeah." I say after awhile.

All of a sudden, we get static, then Nathan's voice comes in loud and clear.

"Hello? Rogers, is that you?" He says.

Yes! They have a microphone with them! I shout to them with excitement.

"Yes! Hi! Hello! Finally, we got you!" I shout.

"Rogers! Hey!" Rose interrupts Nathan. "We're almost approaching the area with the necklace! If something happens, we'll keep you updated."

"That's awesome!" I say.

"Hey Rose!" Mariah interrupts me. "Miss you! Smooches!

"Smooches! I love you so much! We have to go, we're approaching the area now." Rose says.

"Love you!" Mariah shouts.

They're so cute together. It's nice to have some love and humanity during all this. I shut off the radio signal, however, they can still contact if they need to. I ask Mariah if you want to stay here and listen to the radio, she says sure and I walk back in the house. I head in the kitchen and microwave some leftover pizza from Dan's fridge. I look outward towards Mariah. She's laying down on a blanket I set up awhile ago if that radio didn't work.

BEEP! BEEP!

Pizza is ready. I get my slice out of the microwave and take my first bite. I watch Mariah again. She gets up and looks at the radio. She looks like she's shouting at the thing. I look with concern as I see Mariah start to cry and bang her hand on the table. I immediately drop my pizza and head out.

I didn't even finish it.
