Chapter 16: Familiar Faces

Nodding in agreement, Rachelle and Ethan followed them. Soon they were outside of the Government's headquarter. Ethan looked around and saw that Paris, Wayne, and Randolph weren't there.

"We have to go back inside, the others are still in there." Rachelle nodded in agreement.
"Wait," said the man, "You can't go back in there. We are lucky that all of us got out. We need to stay together and head back to your Headquarter." Just as the man finished his sentence, Wayne and Paris came out running.
"Where's Randolph?" Ethan asked.
"I will explain later, right now we just need to get out of here," replied Wayne. They all ran until they were far away from the headquarter. They all stopped in the woods to rest for the night. After catching him breath, Wayne said,
"Randolph got captured. He let himself get caught so we could get away."
"Then we must go back and get him," said Ethan.
"We can't. At least not right now. While Paris and I were running away, I heard someone yell that if we came back they would kill Randolph," said Wayne with a blank face. Silence fell over them.
"Let's just worry about getting back to the Headquarter first then we can come up with a plan to rescue Randolph," said Paris in a calming tone. Everyone then became relaxed.
"I will take first watch," said Wayne standing up.

That night Tarah decided to go over to Kimberly's house and see if she had remembered anything. Tarah arrived at Kimberly's house and knocked on her door. Kimberly opened the door and said,
"Hi. Let me guess you are here to see if I remembered anything from my past." Tarah laughed and said,
"Yep."
"Alright come on in. I did remember something," said Kimberly. Tarah walked into the house and take a seat in a chair. Kimberly sat down near her and said,
"Okay this memory is very disturbing. Are you sure that you want to hear about it?"
"Only if you are willing to tell me," replied Tarah. Kimberly took a deep breath then said,
"Okay so you remember how that man came to me and asked me to be a spy?" Tarah nodded.
"Well that man's name was Adam and he did return like he said he would. When he asked if I had found any Elementals, I told him no because I hadn't found any. He wasn't too happy about that. He said he would give me a reason to work better. At first I thought he was going to hit me, but I was wrong. He brushed back my hair and began to kiss my neck. I pushed him back, but he just came back at me more aggressive than before. He grabbed my neck and placed me against a wall. I tried to get air but as I fought him I began to lose air. I finally give up. He let go of my neck and whispered in my ear,
"Now relax. I want you to at least partly enjoy this." He then went back to kissing my neck. He then began to kiss my lips. I hate to admit, but I was beginning to enjoy the attention. So, I began to kiss him back with passion. His hands began to trace my body until they began to pull my shirt away from my body, but a voice called out which made him stop. The voice said he was needed at once. He turned his head back to me and said we would finish this later. I soon felt the heat from his body leave me. Then the memory faded away."
"Wow, said Tarah, "That was intense."
"Yeah, but I must give it to that Adam guy, he is handsome, but wow was I dumb to do that," said Kimberly slightly laughing, "but not as intense as what happened between you and Randolph." Tarah frowned and said,
"You know about that huh."
"Yeah but trust me, your secret is safe with me," replied Kimberly.
"Well it's not really a secret, I just hate thinking about it. I am just glad Wayne was so forgiving to me," said Tarah.
"Yeah, I wish I could find a guy like that, but the guys here aren't the finest bunch of guys," Kimberly replied with a laugh. Tarah laughed as well.
"Well I am going to head back to my house, hopefully next time you will have a better memory to tell me," Tarah said with a laugh.
"Me too, but I get the feeling I am going to be wrong," Kimberly replied.

The next morning Tarah was on her way to the Headquarter when she heard someone call her name. She looked around but couldn't see anyone. The voice called out to her again. It sounded like it was coming from the woods. She looked hard into the woods and saw a figure running towards her. It was Wayne. She quickly started running towards him. When they reached each other, Wayne picked her up and spun her around.
"I missed you so much," Wayne said as he placed a kiss on her lips.
"So have I," said Tarah as they broke the kiss, "Where is everyone else?"
"Oh, well Rachelle and Ethan went up to the Headquarter and Paris went to see Liam," Wayne replied.
"What about Randolph?" Tarah asked."That I will discuss with everyone after breakfast," Wayne replied. Though she was concerned, Tarah decided to not let it bother her and enjoy her time with Wayne now that he was back.

While on her way to Liam's house, Paris saw Liam walking to the Headquarter. She called out to him and said,
"Looks like your leg is all better now." Liam turned to see Paris standing not too far away from him. He waved at her a began to make his way over to her.
"Nice to see you back in one piece," Liam said with a smile.
"I agree,"said Paris. After a pause of silence, Paris asked,
"Liam can I talk to you about something?"
"Yeah sure, what is it?" He replied back.
"Um, how do I put this? I just want to be friends with you," Paris said nervously. Though he was shocked, Liam said,
"Okay. Whatever reason it is, I will respect your decision. I will look forward to getting to know you as a friend."
"Thanks you for understanding. I look forward to getting to know you as a friend too," replied Paris. After that she headed to the Headquarter to get something to eat.
