Chapter 27: War

After several hours of walk, the Government's headquarters came into site. Randolph took a deep breath. After 2 years it was going to end today, but hopefully in their favor. Randolph studied the building. It looked unprepared, but he knew better than to assume that.
"Let attack now, they're not ready," Ethan said.
"No, they just want us to think that to make a stupid mistake," Randolph said still studying the building. Randolph then outstretched his hand to the building and slowly closed his hand. They watched the building shake. People soon came out of the building and began looking around.
"I hope everyone is ready because the war is about to began. Remember the plan," Randolph said while walking toward the building, "And be careful, we don't know what kind of weapons they have."

Adam and Kimberly felt the building shake.
"They are here," Adam said with a smile, "Everyone get ready to attack. Kimberly go get Randolph's parents and meet me on the roof with them and the serum." Kimberly nodded to left. Adam went to the roof and saw the elementals off in the distance walking toward the building. His plan was to send everyone out and let them fight until they were all dead or the elementals were dead. He planned for all his followers to die so it was just a waiting game for him. Kimberly soon joined him with Randolph's parents and the serum.
"Study them and watch how they fight. It will make them easier to take out when we fight them," Adam said to Kimberly. She nodded and watched as the fight began.

They heard guns start to fire and saw bullets come flying by. Randolph watched as the enemy ran towards them. Randolph took a deep breath and charged at them. Everyone followed behind him. Ethan was quick to take the lead. Ethan created electricity in his hands and shot it at them. Several of them fell to the ground. Ethan weaved through the enemy while shocking them until he got hit by a bullet. He could feel himself slowing down.
"Crap," he said as saw more of the enemy surround him. He saw the bullet in he arm. He wasn't bleeding, but he could feel his power draining. He quickly pulled out the bullet. He felt the draining stop, but he wasn't recovering as quick as he needed to be. He then shot electricity at the enemy. The staggered back, but he could tell he didn't hurt them. He then gathered up all his energy and summoned lightening. He struck them down dead. Ethan felt his body shaking. He had use too much of his power and there were more people coming. He accepted his fate as the aimed their guns at him, but he then saw flames roar by him and burn the men. Ethan saw Mercy running towards him.
"Get out of here," she said continuing toward the enemy. Ethan nodded and left while Mercy  him. Anything that came near her was burned right away. She shot several fireballs toward the them, each hitting it's mark. 
"Come on," she said, "This is too easy." But she spoke to soon. She soon discovered that some of them were wearing fireproof armor. 
"Shoot," she said as they started to close in on her. Mercy was determined to not die. She could feel her fire building up in her.
"You are too close," she said angrily and then watched as her limbs ignited. They quickly aimed their guns at her, but she had them melted in no time, leaving them weaponless. She smiled the used all her might to pushed them away with her power. She saw Calvin starting to get surround and headed straight for him.
"Back away from him," she yelled while shooting fire at them. They were surprised to see someone on fire and Mercy took advantage of that and burnt them to a crisp. Calvin smiled and said,
"Well done." Mercy smiled and said,
"Shall we get back to it?" Calvin nodded. Mercy focused all her power to her hands and shot a huge ball toward them. It exploded takes many people with it. Calvin and Mercy then headed toward the blast where they met more of the enemy.
"Holy cow," Calvin said, "They came prepared." They watched as the enemy changed over watch looked like specialized weapons and armor.
"I think we should probably be concerned," Mercy said with a deep gulp.
"Not if we work together," said a voice. They turned and saw Kristopher and Wayne standing there.
"If they use water were can defend that and if they you use fire, you two can defend that," Wayne said, "But we have to be careful not to get too close and affect each other." Mercy and Calvin nodded. Wayne was right they had to work together to survive. They all headed straight toward the enemy with confidence. Wayne was right. He saw a gun shot a fire bullet. Mercy quickly turned it back towards the enemy. Kristopher saw a water gun being aimed a her. He waited until water began to spray then shot ice at it causing it to jam. He then shot a ice sickle straight at the man's face, killing him.
"Thanks," Mercy said quietly. They all continued fighting until Mercy missed a fire bullet that was headed straight for Wayne.
"Wayne look out," Mercy shouted at him. Wayne saw it coming toward him, but it was to late for him to move. Wayne waited for it to hit him when he saw a stone wall go up in front of him. He smiled. Tarah. He turned to see her run towards him.
"Stop, they have fire over here. It will hurt you," Wayne shouted to her, but Tarah ignored him saying,
"It's just as deadly for you to be hear too." Wayne smiled and said,
"Then let's kick some butt." Tarah smiled and dropped down the stone wall and shot a vine at them. She wrapped them up and sent them flying toward a nearby tree.
"We are getting close. I can see Kimberly onto of the building," Tarah said.
"Where is Randolph?" Wayne asked.
"Running toward the building," Mercy said.
"I will go after him. There is no way he can beat Adam by himself," Calvin said.
"Be careful," Wayne said.
"Don't get to comfortable. We got more company," Kristopher said. Calvin quickly left. Everyone quickly gather together. This was going to be the final wave. No one was dead yet and Wayne was going make sure it stayed that way.
