Several days had passed and everyone was practicing hard. Tim was impressed with how everyone was improving quickly in a short time. Tim decided to spend the day helping Kimberly. He found her and Randolph training together.
"Hello," he said to them. They both waved and greeted him.
"Kimberly, I really wanted to help you today. I know the void can be hard to master, but I have some tricks that might be able to help," Tim said.
"Thanks. You are right. I have been struggling. I can never to something twice. I have done different things but I can never remember how I did them," Kimberly said.
"Well then we need to work on your focus," Tim said excitedly.
"Do you mind if I watch?" Randolph asked. They both shook their head's no.
"Just don't laugh at me if I mess up," Kimberly said.
"Alright," He said with a smile.
"Now first thing I want you to do is to make a crack in matter to disappear into," Tim said.
"Alright, what do I need to do?" she asked.
"Picture it. Connect yourself with the matter around you," he said. Kimberly nodded. She took a breath and closed her eyes. She began to picture herself drawing a crack. She saw a light glow from the crack, but just a quick as it appeared, it disappeared. She sighed and opened her eyes.
"It didn't work," she said with disappointment.
"That's why you practice. Try it again," Tim said with a smile. Kimberly looked at Randolph. He smiled at her and gave her a thumbs up. She smiled and began to try it again. She focused more on her surrounding and the earth's energy. She felt it flow throw her and began to see a light through a small crack. She reached for it and it opened up.
"It's working!" she said with excitement.
"Stay focused," Tim said sternly. Kimberly then opened her eyes and saw the crack in front of her. She took a step into the crack and disappeared. She saw Randolph and Tim looking at her.
"Now to leave you just need to picture yourself leave," Tim said. That wasn't hard for her since she could still see the crack of light from where she entered. She reappeared.
"Impressive," Randolph said with a smile.
"Good, now keep practicing that. I am going to see how else needs my help then I will be back to check on you," Tim said then left.
"Well you heard him, keep practicing silly," Randolph said standing up.
"Are you telling me what to do?" Kimberly said with a smirk.
"Maybe," he said in a teasing tone as he closed the distance between them. Kimberly smirked then disappeared.
"Hey," he said looking at where she disappeared. Kimberly reappeared and said with sass,
"I am doing what I was told." Randolph laughed, but quickly grabbed her arm before she could disappear on him again. Kimberly's heart jumped. He leaned down to her ear and whispered,
"I will never leave you." That sent a chill down her spine. He then looked at her.
"What," she said dumbly.
"Nothing, just taking in the beauty around me," he said smiling then stroking her face. Kimberly blushed then kissed him. He was shocked for only a second then returned her kiss. After a few seconds, they broke the kiss.
"Well as much as I want to continue this, we do need to practice," Randolph said smiling at her. She nodded and smiled at him. They both got back to practice and soon, Kimberly could make a crack in matter easily. Now she was going to try to open matter in different places, so she could travel through matter. Kimberly disappeared into the matter then saw a crack a few feet away from her. She went through it and appeared a few feet away from where she was.
"It work," she said. Randolph smiled and said,
"You are picking up on these things quickly, but what if you need to fight?"
"Well, I will travel through matter and redirect things," she said with confidence.
"But what if someone gets caught in the matter with you, then what?"
"Well," she said then paused. She hadn't thought about that. It looked like she was going to need to learn how to use matter to defend herself.
"Make me a metal wall," Kimberly said. Randolph obliged and made a wall. Kimberly outstretched her hand and began to slowly make her hand into a fist. As she did the wall began to crunch down. Randolph stood there in awe. Kimberly began to break into a sweat. She could feel the weight of the wall which made it hard to crush. She started to give up when she heard Randolph encouraging her. Her breath was heavy with pain, but she watched the wall slowly turn into a ball of metal. She couldn't give up and she didn't. Randolph watched as the wall became a ball of metal. Kimberly fell to the ground with fatigue. Randolph went over to her and slowly helped her to her feet saying,
"That was amazing. I have never seen someone do that before." Kimberly smiled and said,
"I think I need a break before I try that again." Randolph nodded and then helped her back to her house to take care of her.
*"The blood is ready," Randolph's father said. Adam smiled and took the syringe. Now he could become an elemental for a short period of time.
"We also have our first set of handcuffs that can stop elementals' powers ready to try as well.
"Wonderful," he said with a smirk, "And make sure that potion is ready for when I return with Kimberly." Adam then headed toward the garage and mounted his motorcycle. He brought a small backpack which held some food, drinks, and the syringe of blood. He knew there was something protecting their base and his best shot was to use the blood to get in and out quick, but he also didn't mind to stop for a fight either. He grabbed his helmet, put it on, and took off. With the helmet on, at least they couldn't recognize who it was right away.
