The Life We Don't Remember

High School Life Part 7:Jealousy

A whole week passed and by then, the girls-except Kate-has figured out about Rick's unresolved feelings for Kate. He was a little uncomfortable about them knowing at first, but quickly got over it after seeing Josh and Kate making lip action in front of him. Now, he wants nothing more than to kick the wall everytime he sees them together.

He was sitting in class waiting patiently for Kate to walk in. Her coffee was getting cold. Usually he would just wait for her by her locker, but she texted him earlier and told him to head to class and not to wait for her. He was getting unnecessarily nervous. His palms were sweating, he could hear his nervous breathing and worst of all, she wasn't even there yet. He knows he's being ridiculous, but he couldn't help himself.

Suddenly he saw her by the door and he quickly straightened in his seat. A huge smile on his lips and his eyes brighten, but then....he saw Josh, and his smule dropped​ and he slouched in his seat. He had his head down, staring at his desk, when he heard someone clearing their throat. He looked up and saw her, even if he was jealous, he couldn't​ help but smile as he caught sight of her.

She had her hair up, but it still fitted her well. She was also wearing her favorite jacket, with a pair of dark blue jeans. He handed her coffee to her with a smile.

"Sorry, it's a little cold" he apologized.

"No, my bad. Thank you" she thanked him as she took the coffee then sat in her seat beside​ him.

Just in time as the teacher walked in.

During lunch, everyone else was seated at their usual seat. Talking as they eat. Rick was a little distracted, looking around the cafeteria for the one person that wasn't there. Kate. He sighed after he couldn't find her.

"Relax, bro"

He turned to look at Javier after he heard him.

"She's probably studying" he reasoned.

Rick just nodded. Not even a moment later, they heard laughing from across the cafeteria. They simultaneously turned to look and saw Kate giggling with Josh at the table he usually sits. He sighed, clear disappointment on his face as he turned away, not wanting to look.

Kevin opened his mouth to say something only to be stopped by a voice.

"Ricky!"

They looked and saw, Gina running up to them, or more specifically, Rick. She casually strolled up to him and sat closely beside him.

"Uh...Gina. What are you doing here?" Rick asked.

"Just came to invite you over for a party. Tonight, at my place" she said.

"Oh, sure. We'll be there" he said a little uncomfortable at how close she is.

"Great, see you then" she looked at the others sitting at the table "You're invited too" then she turned to Rick and kissed his cheek before skipping off.

Everyone had their mouth open as they stared at Rick, shocked.

"What just happened?" Kevin questioned.

"Is there something goin on that we should know?" Javier asked, suspicious of Rick.

He wiped his cheek, the spot she kissed before answering "Nothing that I understand or know" he said in all honesty.

"What's up with her?" Lanie glared at the direction Gina left.

Javier pulled her closer, knowing how much she hates Gina. They all do.
