It had been a whirlwind. A busy week awaits me after the weekend. Aderson's office is celebrating it's 9th year anniversarry, a meeting with some new clients for Mr. Anderson, and a small concert with the boys. Im earning enough to send to the US but I stop myself. I have come to realize that I should stop being a push-over with my step mother and its about time I take control of my life.
I had a roll of printing paper with me to bring on Monday, as I was in a supply store downtown. Lilian was across the street by the bakery, watching me do my thing. She would wink at me and make funny faces when I look at her and I would stifle a laugh, the man on the cashier looking at me funny. Finally surviving shopping, I payed for the items and I crossed the street.. carefully this time.
Crossing streets just make me remember that day when I almost got ran over by a car, and sometimes I come to think if it was someone I know who was inside that car. Matty teases me about it, Im thinking it was him but I dont think we had so much run in's. I placed my bags down on the spare seat beside Lily and I sat next to her. "these macarons are great" she said as she handed me a box of them.
I wonder if Matty likes macarons, I could totally make some if he still feels down. But I dont even know if boys are like girls who eat alot of sweets when they're broken hearted or having a bad day. I sighed and took out my phone, which had an unread message. I slid the unlock and clicked on the blinking icon
you look nice wearing baggy shirts and pants
The message read. I furrowed my eyebrows to see who the sender was and it was Matty. Of course. I turned around, looking around the bakery and some place else but didnt find him. I groaned "I dont understand Matty.." I told Lily who was sipping on some tea "why?" she asked.
I turned around again, and still no sight of him. No mess of dark curly hair and leather. No smoke puffing lead singer of the band. "he texted me saying I look good in my clothes today.." I told her and she wiggled her eyebrows at me. I roll my eyes in my attempt to be annoyed but I laughed afterwards. "Jesus, Jamie. you got it bad for that boy" she teases me and I mocked hurt "no! how dare you accuse me" I said

Mondays.
I finished my cup of coffee, and I was seated across the table with Mr. Anderson reviewing my reports and some pictures I took for an assignment from him. He was nodding his head as he skimmed through the papers and he put them down. He let out a laugh "Ms. Silver, I would like to offer you a job.." he starts and my eyes were growing bigger than the moon "you have been interning for a while now, and I see you are determined and responsible enough to take this job as it is. I find that very appealing and I would want you to work full time." he told me.
I stood up and I grabbed the man's hand shaking it "yes! yes sir, that would be.. that's amazing!" I said to him happily and he laughed again "of course, Ms. Silver. Its an honor to have you in my company" he said and he dismissed me from his office.
I was happy. I cant believe that after that time when my step mother ruined my day, I am now working in the company full time and now Im so happy! And things are going well. I took out my phone and typed a quick message to a group, mainly Lilian and the boys. I want to celebrate this with them.
Barbeque at our pad tonight? I got the job full time! :) -Jamie
