I had to start the internship in three days. Lily toured me around the city sometimes to get me acquianted with the places and the modes of transportation I can take to work, all the basics in living in busy England. Everything was so alien to me, the faces I meet on the streets.. the scents as I walk by, everything.

But I was thrilled. I was so pumped up to start interning for Mr. Walter Anderson. I've heard he was a nice man. He managed a small scale studio in the city, with few people working for him. Lilian, who used to work for him too, told me he was a decent boss.

I was relieved to hear that. And knowing her she's most likely to tell the truth and I trust her. Staying here will hopefully change me as a person. I am more than willing to be more open to things. I want to be just like mother, who was free-spirited and welcomed opportunities.

It had been three days, and Lily accompanied me to the small office space in the city. It was surrounded by bigger buildings but it stood out. It was white and there were tinted windows. There was a sign with the company name on it.

I inhaled the cold air and gripped Lily's arm tightly "Im nervous" I told her and she smiled lightly. "Oh sweetie you'll do great! They wont invite you if you werent good at anything.. just be yourself" she said, giving me a pep talk. I nodded and she gave me a tight hug before I entered the premises.

The door chime rang as I entered and I was greeted by the lady in the front desk with a warm smile. She looked like she was in her mid-30's. I approached her and smiled back "Im the intern, Jamie Silver? I have a meeting with Mr. Anderson today." I told her and her eyes brighten up "oh, hello! Im Sheila Anderson, Im his sister." she introduced herself and she handed me an i.d card "This is yours, while you're interning. If he eventually hires you, you'll get a different one. He's in the office to your right." she said as I got the piece of plastic card from her and nodded "thank you.." I said and proceeded to the office.

My hands were cold and clammy, and I tried not to make so much noise as I walked on the wooden floor. I reached the door of his office and gulped as I knocked twice. "Come in" a voice from behind the door said and I inhaled as I opened it. The man was seated by the window and he turned to look at me "Good morning.." I greeted "Im Jamie Silver.. the intern from America." I introduced myself and he nods.

"Have a seat Jamie." he invited and I sat on one of the chairs facing him. He cleared his throat and sat infront of me. "You see we dont usually hire interns from abroad, its a risky business. Lilian had told me about you and showed me a few of your works.. they seem lovely." he started.

"I was also interested in the pictures that were in print. The black and white ones. You used a real camera. Not the digital one, so I thought you'd do great.." he smiled. I was relieved he liked those pictures. "thank you.." I told him and he nods. "Now, I'll hand you over back to Shiela. She'll give you a head start and a tour around the office and studio space." he said and I stood up "Thank you, again. Mr. Anderson. This is a great opportunity you gave me." I said and he nods.

Sheila toured around. Showing me my work space on the first floor. The large studio in the second floor. Introduced me to the other people in the office. She told me what time I should be in for work and what time I can go home. I was so excited. The office was larger than I thought, and the people were friendly. Sheila assigned me to arranging paper work for now, and if I were lucky I'd be put to the test at field work next week.

Now that had got me really excited. Field work can be anywhere and I loved to see other parts of London or wherever else. I cant wait for next week.
