( Matthew Healy POV )

I woke up with a slightly throbbing head. My surroundings was new and it was brighter than my room, I scanned the interior and found a mess of brown beside me. She was curled up on the other side of the bed with her clothes from last night.

Last night..

I groaned internally with thoughts of last night. The girls we were with, who I forgot their names.. and that guy she was with. I felt a pang of hurt deep inside me and I frowned. Jamie stirred beside me and she stretched her arms up in a yawn.

"good morning"

I said and she stared at me with sleepy eyes, before she finally realized I was on her bed. She screamed again, the same way she did last night. I flinched and she was off the bed so quickly. I stared at her and she eyed me suspiciously.

"Matty? I thought you left last night?" she asked, obviously oblivious with the fact that I was still here. I rubbed my temples "shh.. keep it down a notch" I said and she groaned. "you shouldve thought about that before drinking" she said and I stared at her.

Before I could say anything, there was a knock on the door. Jamie let out a sigh. "Matty is in here, Lilian. you've got some explaining to do.." she said with a glare as she opened the door to reveal a slyly smiling friend. The blonde laughed "will you two, talk it out? Im going off to the groceries and Im not coming home unless you two fix whatever needs to be fixed." she said and with that she turned on her heel and left.

I watched as Jamie gripped the door knob and turned to look at me. I shrugged "should I leave?" I asked slowly and she shook her head.

"not with a hangover, no.."

"why not?"

"you cant drive with a hangover, George told me a long time ago.."

I laughed at that. It had been a long time now since we've known each other. The boys love her, obviously. She seemed at home with them. And they treat her like a sister. I sighed "we should talk then.." I told her but she stood there looking at me.

"Im going to make some breakfast.. go wash up" she said to me sternly as she disappeared, shutting the door behind her. I groaned with the loud thud it made but took in my surroundings again. The room was so clean and neat, its like she barely stayed in here.

Something caught my eye however.

The picture I gave her was beside her bed on the bedside table. Along with another picture of her and who I suppose is her mum. She looked younger in the picture, about 10 maybe. She was gleaming and her eyes sparkled with happiness.

I sat infront of her by the table now, she cooked up some scrambled eggs and sausages with toast. I thanked her as she placed the toast on my plate. She nods and silently eat her breakfast. I stared at her for a moment, as she munched silently on the toast but ate my own breakfast.

I wanted to apologize for last night. For the way I acted. I was a real wanker for treating her that way. I didnt even know why I did those things with the girl. It was like.. I dont know. Seeing her stare at me in disbelief was a pain, but watching her leave was much more.

"Jamie"

she looked up from her plate and her eyes were glossy. I sighed and reached for her hand but she snatched it away.

"Listen, Im sorry for the way I acted last night.." I started and she continued to stare..

"I was drunk, and I didnt know you felt that way.."

"being drunk is not an excuse.. actually. We dont really have anything else to talk about"

I let out a heavy aggravated sigh "yes we do.. I dont understand you. I thought you were jealous!" I exclaimed and she stood up "I never said I was! and if I were.. does it matter to you? It obviously doesnt because you were sucking face last night like I never existed" she spat and I frowned at her.

She looked so cute angry, the way her nose scrunches and her cheeks are red. Jamie glared at me "it doesnt matter, Matty. I dont get you either, you would kiss me so casually and I dont want to be someone you casually kiss.. its not like that for me" she said rubbing her face in annoyance.

"because you like me?"

She looked away. This time I stood up and walked to her. "tell me.. You like me?" I asked her and she avoided my gaze. I took her chin and she shyly looked at me. Her cheeks were flushed and I smiled at her "Jamie.. you like me?" I asked again and she nodded slowly.

My heart jumped and Im sure there are a bunch of baboons stomping inside my stomach right now. The confusion I had before, where I didnt know how I actually feel for her is gone. I now know, I liked Jamie. I know that what I feel for her is real and I cant push it away.

"I like you too.."

I told her and she whipped her head up to look at me so quickly, and I laughed "why are you so surprised?" I asked her as I snaked my arms around her waist and she sighed, shaking her head "you're not joking right?" she questioned and her cheeks were so red. I ran my hand over them and she closed her eyes "I must be dreaming.." she mumbled and I chuckled. "Jamie, you're not dreaming.." I told her and her eyes bore on mine. I knew she's doubting me. So I did what I knew would change that..

I kissed her.
