If you get offended easily, I don't think you should read this. That's just my warning. Because this rant will most likely affect most people. Not everyone, but a lot of people.
Firstly; Emos.
Being 'emo' isn't based on the kinds of clothes you wear or the hairstyle that you have. Just because you wear black doesn't make you emo. Just because you have spiked out hair doesn't make you emo. Just because sometimes you get upset doesn't make you emo. Emo means to be emotionally challenged. It means to have your feelings completely destroyed and nothing in your mind makes sense. It means that you feel empty and everything is just a blur. It's hard to explain. You have to feel it to truly understand. Just because you're suicidal, doesn't mean you're emo. It means you're suicidal. They're completely different. If you have the 'emo' haircut, it just means you're following a trend. It makes you 'scene'. Scene is the trend. Emo is the state of mind. Don't label yourself as something if you have no idea what the fuck it means. Do your research or some shit. There's a huge difference between being emotionally challenged and scene. Huge difference. So figure out who and what you are before you label yourself.
And I hate how some of you flaunt it about like it's great. It isn't. It's not something to be proud or ashamed of. It's not something you broadcast to the world. It's personal. It's what's happening inside your head. It's what's going on within you. Honestly, what satisfaction do you get when you tell everyone? If you honestly feel as if you're within that kind of a mindstate, you should get actual professional help. Posting 'I support emos' on your page isn't doing anything for anyone. If you support them so much, then you'd do something a little more than make a public broadcast.
Scene=trend. Emo=state of mind.
Secondly; Indie.
Oh my fucking golly goodness gracious me. 'Indie' technically means 'individual'. So how the fucking hell of a shit can you make being individual a trend? Like, what even? Those of you who claim to be 'indie', what do you even mean? How are you individual if you all have the same hair? All wear the same 'hipster' clothes? You all dress the same and look the same. Where the fuck is your individuality? If I pranced around on the street in nothing but boxers and a baseball cap while eating squid and wearing diving flippers, I would be indie. I would be so fucking individual that I'd give a whole new meaning to indie. How many people have you seen doing that? None? Okay. I would be 'indie'. I would be different. Because I'm setting my own individual trend that no one else has thought up. And then there's you 'indie' people who think that if you all wear the same shorts and shirts and wear your hair the same way then you're indie. What the fuck, man? How is that individual? Where's your diving flippers and your squid? You're not individual. You're like everyone else. So stop raping my tumblr with your 'I'M SO INDIE' 'ME BEING INDIE' photos and sit the fuck down. Learn some actual individuality and then we'll talk.
Thirdly; Fangirls/Fanguys.
I actually blame a lot of you for the hatred that most popstars are faced with now. When I ask someone 'Why do you hate Cody Simpson so much?' or 'Why do you hate One Direction so much?' the majority of people will answer with 'Because they're everywhere I go! Their fans are ridiculous! It's so stupid!' And I'd have to say I agree with them. You fans are insane. I get that you love the band/person a lot. You love their music and them as a person and I respect that. I get that you all want to see them in concert and meet them in real life. I want to meet fucking Alice Cooper, okay? But I don't go insane about it. When One Direction came to Australia, a bunch of my friends were watching their interview on the show 'Sunrise'. And I'm not even joking; in the window of the studio you could see fans passing out and ambulances arriving to take them to hospital. Woah. Like, what the fuck? How scared would One Direction have been when that happened to them as soon as they got to Australia? If that were me I'd be on the next flight home and away from you crazy Australians. It makes us look completely insane! One Direction are probably dreading their next tour here because they're scared they'll kill half the population.
And how about all you kids who cry when you see your favorite band/person in real life? Oh my gosh, how embarrassing. Your idol has just seen you blubbering away in front of them. Some of you are crying so hard that you can't even talk. YOU JUST MISSED YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH THEM, HELLO.
All I'm asking, is for you guys to tone it down a bit. There's no need to go insane. Just be cool and not quite so terrifying.
Much love.
