Josh's POV

Status: edited

I couldn't focus on anything. Everyone and everything was a blur to my eyes.

"Josh?" Tyler asks softly.

"Yes?" He gets up and motions towards the kitchen, I follow him until we're a good distance away from Y/N.

"Can I ask a favor of you?"

"Go ahead." I say bluntly, no emotion in my voice.

"Can you spend the night, please?" That was the last thing I want to do.

"I don't think that's a good idea, Tyler." He folds his arms and looks down at me.

"Please, I'm working a night shift to earn enough money to buy a ring."

I roll my eyes. "Then why do I need to stay?"

Tyler let's out a sigh. "Because if Y/N needs something and no one's there, bad things could happen."

"Then is it really a good time to get engaged?"

"Josh..." Tyler begins to grind his teeth together.

"Fine, but I'm sleeping in your room." He nods and we walk back to the living room.

"Y/N, go get ready for bed." Tyler orders her.

"Your not the boss of me." She sticks her tongue out at him and walks to her bedroom.

"What was that for?" I narrow my eyes at Tyler.

"So she will be asleep before I leave." I roll by eyes and Tyler gets ready to go.

I turn around and look at the clock on Tyler's bed side table. It was 2:31 AM.

The door creaked open only the slightest, it reveals a sleepy Y/N who looks like she has been crying.

"T- Tyler?" She pushes the door open a bit more so she can see me. "Josh?" Her eyes are filled with questions.

"Can I sleep with you?" Y/N seems too innocent for this, maybe she does this with Tyler.

"Of course." I pat the other half of the bed and she joins me under the covers.

Y/N puts her head in the crook of my neck. "Are you okay?" I say while stroking her hair.

"I am now. It was just a bad dream."

I watch her as she falls asleep. I can feel the little breaths she's taking on my neck, it tickles a bit.

I look down at the girls lips, they look so soft and warm and welcoming. I just want our lips to meet, it would feel so good.
