Wrong Number// Zach Herron

Chapter 5

Laken's POV

          Zach kisses me. I freak out for a second because it was unexpected but I'm not against it. I close my eyes and go along with it. He smiles into the kiss for a second before pulling himself away. He lays his forehead against mine and I smile. I look up and peck him on his lips. He wraps his arms around my neck and pulls me into an embrace. It's one of the warmest feelings I've had in a long time. The tall boy lays his head on mine and we stand there in each other's arms for what feels like forever, which in actuality was only a few moments. He starts to pull away from the hug but I pull him back," No stay." He wraps his arms back around my neck." Okay but if I don't get you back home soon there won't be any more hugs because Logan will literally kill me," He laughs. I pull back and look at him with a sigh," Fine." He smiles and kisses my forehead. He takes my hand and we walk back to Zach's car. " No more hitting trashcans, Okay?" I joke, giggling. He scoffs," Sorry, I was distracted." " So I'm a distraction?" I laugh. He looks at me with a cheeky grin," No, you're just stunning, I couldn't take my eyes off you." I return the grin and giggle," You're getting better at flirting." 

          " I'm walking you back up to Logan's door. Don't you touch your door, let me open it!" Zach scolds. I smile and let go of the handle. He hops out of the car and run's over to my door, allowing me to get out. " I could've done that myself," I mumble. He gives me a glare before starting to laugh. He closes the car door and we make our way into the building. The elevator takes no time to open and we get in and press the floor button. " Do you wanna stay want to watch a movie with me?" I ask, hopefully. " It's really late, Lake," He responds with a frown. I sigh," But we're inside, and I have popcorn!" He smiles and agrees to stay for one movie. The elevator door opens and we walk down the hall to Logan's door. 

          "Logan, I'm home! Zach is with me!" I yell but get no response. " Logan?" I yell again. I walk into the kitchen and there is a note taped to the refrigerator that reads, ' I'm with Mark, staying at his tonight for a video. There's pizza in the refrigerator and you can use my Netflix on the tv so you don't have to sign in. Have fun!  Love you.' I smile and open the refrigerator door. " We have pizza," I smile back at Zach. He walks over and takes it out of my hands. I grab a few things of popcorn and put them in the microwave, then grab two sodas from the fridge. " What do you want to watch?" Zach questions flipping through Netflix. " Something scary, I like horror movies," I chirp. The popcorn beeps and I take it out of the microwave and bring it and the sodas to the coffee table. 

Zach's POV

          I turn on some old horror movie from a few years ago. I sit on the couch and grab a piece of pizza. Laken sits beside me and cuddles up to my side. " I thought you liked horror movies?" I ask, laughing. " I do, but that doesn't mean they're not scary," she scoffs. I laugh and look back at the movie. I sit my arm on the back of the couch. We're halfway through the movie and Laken jumps and gets closer to me, but never looks away from the tv. I wrap my arm around her and we finish the movie. 

          The ending credits start rolling," Laken, I gotta go home now it's like 1 in the morning." I get no response from her so I look down at her. She's sleeping peacefully cuddled up to my side. I think for a moment before deciding on what to do. I pick her up bridal style, trying not to wake her and take her back to her room. I kick the door open, careful not to make much noise. I lay her on her bed and put her head in a comfortable spot on her pillows. I pull her shoes off then pull up the covers and cover her up. I look around her room and find a pencil and a piece of paper and write her a note.

Hey Lake, you fell asleep last night and I couldn't bring myself to wake you up. 
I laid your key and phone on your nightstand and cleaned everything up
so you won't have to when you wake up. Sleep well. 
Text me when you wake up, gorgeous :)

          I put the note right by her so I know she will find it then I go and clean up everything. I throw all of the trash away and fix up Logan's couch then turn off the TV. I leave and lock the bottom lock. When I get to my car I smile and lay my head on the steering wheel for a second. I go on my phone and change my lock screen from what it was, to a photo of Laken and I that I took tonight. I pull out of the parking lot and smile all the way home.

          I pull into the Why Don't We house's driveway and park then go inside. I jog straight up to my room. As I pass Corbyn's room he walks out with a headset around his neck," Where've you been?" Right before I was about to answer, Jack walks out and says," With Laken." I smile at the mention of her name. " Sucking her face off on the pier," He adds. " It was just a kiss what are you talking about- wait how do you know we kissed?" I ask. He pulls out his phone," It's all over Instagram." I sigh and roll my eyes. " Are y'all playing video games together when your rooms are literally right next to each others?" I ask. They shrug and nod before walking back into their rooms. I scoff and walk to my room. I change, lay down, then scroll through my phone. I open Instagram to see what Jack was talking about and see this...

Just wondering when this happened? I didn't even know they knew each other. In case you don't know the girl is Laken Bieber, Justin Bieber's little sister. I noticed earlier that he had followed her, but since when do they know each other? And why are they kissing? Are they dating? Who knows at this point...

          I scoff and begin to type a comment. ' Laken is my best friend, just my best friend. Nothing more." I hit send and roll my eyes. I turn my phone off and roll over to go to sleep.
