Chapter 7

" So how'd it go?"

Zach's POV

          " Did you get it or what? Are you staying in LA?" I question. Laken smiles and jumps into my arms. " I'll take that as a yes," I laugh. She shows me a contract and I sit her down on the ground. I look at it and read it. " I'm so proud of you!" I excite. I hug her tightly. She grabs my face," I'm staying in LA. I'm staying!" She jumps around happily. I smile at her. " Well, what are you waiting for? Let's celebrate!" I say. We make our way back to my car and go to Starbucks. " Take a picture for me?" Laken asks. I smile and grab her phone. " Let me post this right quick," She smiles.

          I smile at Laken as she excitedly jumps up and down. " Let's go to the sign," I say. She looks at me, confused. " The Hollywood sign," I laugh. " Oh," she giggles.

Laken's POV

          Zach drove us to the top parking lot on the mountain the sign is on. We get out and make our way up to the sign. I look out over the city. " God," I pause," It's beautiful up here." Zach stands beside me. " Not as beautiful as you," he looks over at me and smiles. I blush and look back out to the city. " Oh, I need to go live!" I turn around and sit my phone on a rock. I start the live and quickly people join. I see the boys join and I guest Jack. " Hey everybody!" I smile. " I've got great news." 

          "Tell me, come on!" Jack laughs. I smile at Zach then back at my phone. " So this morning, I got a great offer! I called Zach and he came and picked me up and took me to this place. I had a meeting with Graycn Holmes, a manager from Worlds Talent, and basically I got signed. And I'll be living in LA from now on, making music and auditioning for TV shows," I finish and look at Zach who is smiling at me. Jack is smiling," Laken, I'm so proud of you. Now we have to Hang out, Zach can stop hogging you for once." Zach scoffs and grabs my waist from behind," I'll hog my best friend for as long as I want." The comments start being flooding with 'Zaken' comments. I close the live and put my phone in my pocket. " Laken," Zach says. I look at him and walk over," Yeah?" He smiles and grabs my hands. His hands, much larger than mine, grasp mine. " I'm so proud of you. So unbelievably proud," He pauses for a second and looks in my eyes," I want you to get everything you want in life. Your job, friends, future, everything you want. You deserve all of it." He pulls me into a hug. His arms wrap around my neck and he rests his chin on my head. Backing his head away, he kisses me on the forehead. I pull his arm down and look at him. My heels leave the ground and roll to my toes. Zach looks down as I look up at him. I press my lips against his. I feel a spark. Zach slips his hand around to my back to hold me from falling back since he's so much taller than I am. Zach is everything I look for in a guy; sweet, caring, tall, selfless. He cares about the people he loves so much. He perfect. And if I was looking for a boyfriend, he'd be perfect for that too. But I'm not.

           Sure, I like Zach. I'm pretty sure that's become obvious at this point. And I'm almost positive he likes me. But I'm moving to LA now, it's a new place and I only know so many people. And my career just started itself. I would love nothing more than to be with Zach, it's just not the time. But I live here now, and I'll see him every day. We have all the time in the world to start dating.

Zach's POV

          Laken is absolutely gorgeous. She's my perfect girl. Height, attitude, personality, I feel like she was handcrafted for me. We say we're best friends, and that's what we tell the public eye to keep them out. But I don't know what we are. Don't get me wrong, Laken is my best friend, but it's something more. It could be something more. I don't want to act on anything though until she's fully on her feet here.  But once she is, I plan to ask this beautiful girl to be mine. 

          Laken pulls back from me. She gives me a quick peck on the lips before I kiss her forehead and rest my chin on her head. 

          We stand at the sign all day and watch the sunset over LA. When it was finally down, I drove her back to Logan's, walked her upstairs, then made my way back to the house, but the second I walk in, I'm bombarded by the boys. " If you guys aren't dating, you've really got to stop publicly kissing every five seconds." 

Laken's POV

         I get ready for bed then lay down. Right as I close my eyes my phone buzzes. I groan and roll over to grab it. I see ' Amiga ' and know it's Gabbie, my best friend. I smile and answer the phone," Hey-" she cutes me off instantly," When were you going to tell me you weren't coming back?"

- This is confusing but you already knew this if you read the original story, the Gabbie ( Gabriela) Gonzalaz in this story, is NOT the real Gabbie, in Wrong Number irl Gabbie is never a character! So to clear up confusion, Gabbie in this story, IS NOT momma Gabbie.
