Zach's POV

" So, where do you want to go for lunch," I ask leaning up and turning the radio down. I have one hand on the steering wheel and the other on the shifter. " It doesn't matter, wherever you want," She smiles over at me. I laugh," That's why I asked you. I don't know what I want." She lets out a giggle," Let's just go to In-N-Out." I nod," In-N-Out it is."

I pull into the parking lot and park the car. I open my door and quickly rush over to her side of the car and open the door. " What a gentleman," Laken smiles. "Ma' lady," I play around. We walk towards the door and I hold the door for her. We quickly order our food and take our seats. A few girls walk over to her and me to ask for a picture with me. I was about to decline, seeing as I'm out with Laken right now but before I realize it, Laken is holding the girl's phone and helping her pose. I smile and go along with it as the girls squeal and run off with their phones. " You didn't have to do that," I laugh. "Of course I did. They're your fans, they love you," She says, in her happy tone. I smile at her than hear our order get called. "I'll be right back," I say, standing up from the table. She smiles at me as I walk to the counter and grab our tray.

Laken's POV

Zach walks back and sits the tray on the table. " Here you go, Beautiful. Your burger and soda," he smiles sitting it in front of me. I smile as he grabs his food and pushes the tray to the side. We play a game of questions. ( Similar to 21 questions) " When was the first time you performed in public?" I ask while taking a fry from his tray. " You should've got your own fries, silly. But I've been performing publicly for as long as I can remember. My first big public show was a wedding though," he says, smiling and shoving some fries in his mouth. I laugh and steal another of his fries.

After we finish eating, Zach threw away the trash and we went back to his car. " We're going shopping," he says, changing the radio station," Buckle up." I do as he says and we sing along to the radio. " Oh by the way, where are we going shopping? I left my credit card at Logan's so all I have is like 30 dollars in cash," I question, looking through my bag. " Don't worry about money, Laken. I've got you covered," He smiles at me. I smile back," You don't have to do that Zach. I just need my card." " I don't have to but I want to, " Zach laughs. We get to Brandy Melville and go inside. Zach has a shocked look. " Why is everything so small and girl," He laughs. I smile," It's a girl's store, that's why." He smiles and motions towards the clothes. I smile and go look through the clothes before finding two shirts and a pair of jeans. I grab a scrunchie and walk over to Zach and show it to him. "That's it? You can get more, I'll buy it for you, don't worry," Zach consoles. I shake my head and he grabs the clothes from my hands and takes them to the register. " You two are so cute together. It's so sweet of you to come shopping with your girlfriend," the lady behind the counter says. " Oh, we're not together. She's my best friend," Zach says awkwardly. I laugh and the lady gives him a 'whatever you say' look. She hands me the bag and Zach and I walk back out to his car. I slip the scrunchie he bought me on my wrist and smile at him.

Zach's POV

I know that store is sort of expensive, but if it makes her happy, I'll do it. " Do you want to go to the pier now? There is a lot of stuff we can do there," I look over at her. She's typing on her phone. Her attention changes from it to me," Huh?" I laugh," The pier. We can go and play arcade games and ride the Ferris Wheel. And get that weird yellow cotton candy you like," I stop and laugh," so what do you say?"  She looks over at me and smiles," Okay, let's go then." I look over at her phone and see "Ramen" followed by the emoji. " What does Jack want," I question, taking a turn. " He's mad at me for hanging out with you and not him," She giggles. " I think I'm way more fun to hang out with," I say, glancing over at Laken. She smiles and looks back at me," I think you are too," She looks away for a moment," You're about to hit a trashcan."

"I can't believe you hit a trashcan!" Laken giggles, a sound everybody definitely should hear. "Oh look," I point off in a random direction and turn around to grab the yellow cotton candy. She turns back around and I hand it to her. She smiles," Thank you, Zachy." She takes a bite of the sweet treat. I smile at her as she happily tastes her snack. I motion for her to walk with me and we walk together. Laken and I play arcade games all night. Bottle Toss, bean bag toss, ping pose toss, all of the other toss games. I buy us matching t-shirts and hats, and I win her a stuffed unicorn from one of the ski-ball machines. She walks around hugging it by the neck all night. " Do you want to ride the Ferris Wheel before they shut it down for the night?" I ask. She smiles and nods and we get in line.

We reach the top of the slow-moving Ferris Wheel and I look at Laken as she smiles at all the people below us. " Hey, Zach?" She asks, without looking back. I look at the moon hitting her face," Yeah?" She turns to me, " Sing to me?" I smile and think for a moment.

"I only say it 'cause I really mean it"

"I ain't afraid of how you got me feeling"

She smiles at me as I sing to her. The moon hits her hazel eyes and show them as a honey color.

"The sky's so clear when you're the view"
"Anywhere I go I'm taking you"

I lean over and push her hair behind her face, my hand staying on her face for a moment.

"Anywhere I go I'm taking you"

Laken smiles at me. We step off the Ferris Wheel as it rounds the end. We walk the rest of the way down the pier. We're almost to the end of the pier, we've passed all games and rides and it is not just an empty pier, and our hands scrape each others. After a few moments of our hands brushing together, I decide to just go for it. I grab her hand, and to my surprise, she holds my hand right back. We finally reach the very end of the pier and stand there looking out over the water. I can tell Laken is getting cold, so I take off my hoodie and hand it to her. She smiles as she slips it over her head and pulls her hair out of the collar. I smile at her. She grabs my hand and slips her scrunchie on my wrist.  I smile and laugh, as she looks up at me. I put my hand on her face and lean in. I make an impulse decision and connect our lips...
