Traditional Philosophy: Occam's Razor and the concept of the blind watchmaker.
Basic tenets of "The Blind Watchmaker" argument:
1. Like the inner workings of a watch, the inner parts of Organism A are very complex.
2. The complex inner workings of a watch necessitate its design by an intelligent creator.
3. As with the watch, the complex inner workings of Organism A necessitate its design by an intelligent creator.
Basic tenet of Occam's Razor argument:
Also known as "the argument of parsimony," it states that among equally possible hypotheses, the hypothesis with the fewest assumptions (the simplest hypothesis) should be considered the most reasonable hypothesis.
Common conclusion from these two arguments:
When comparing the possibility of natural selection/Darwinian evolution to the possibility of an intelligent creator, Occam's Razor tells us that natural selection has the fewest assumptions and is thus the preferable hypothesis. This stems from the fact that, if Organism A is exceedingly complex and required intelligent design by Being Z, then Being Z is even more complex. This necessitates that Being Z, too, exists from intelligent design from an infinitely more complex creator. Natural selection simply assumes that organisms and their component parts developed from a series of trial and error and spontaneous mutation with no intelligent design by a chain of increasingly complex intelligent creators.

It is canon to the show that lesser gems were created by the Diamonds to serve them and protect Homeworld.
If lesser gems were created by the Diamonds, then gems can be created.
The Diamonds are gems.
Therefore, one may assume that the Diamonds were created.
By whom, and for what purpose, were the Diamonds created?
If the Diamonds were created by Being X, was Being X a gem?
If Being X was a gem, and gems can be created, one may assume that Being X was created.
By whom, and for what purpose, was Being X created?
If Being X was not a gem, what were they, and how the fuck did they come up with this shit?
If the Diamonds were not created by intelligent design, how did they come to be?

*Richard Dawkins is a bloody genius. The Ancestor's Tale, The Selfish Gene, The God Delusion, and The Blind Watchmaker are all worth your time, if you can handle second-year high school biology. His theories changed my worldview and my life philosophy.
