None were too pleased upon hearing the deal arranged between Aro and Kahlen. Except Marcus, who stared blankly, and Demetri. Instead he watched the twins' expressions as they enraged by the second. Some were a little more willing to be open to the idea. Others were clearly against it.
"Now," Aro reached down beside his chair, holding up a black sack, "I believe these belong to you."
Walking up the steps of the throne a low hiss escaped Caius's lips. The hunter ignored him completely, taking the item. She rummaged around inside, finding everything accounted for and turned to descend.
"Not going to equip yourself, human?" the blonde spat. "I figured you'd jump at the first chance seeing as how you've been dying to get ahold of your weapons again."
The young woman paused on the last step, turning to face the brother with a taunting smirk. "I didn't want to make you jumpier than you already are," she said.
Caius nearly broke the arm of the chair from how hard he gripped it in rage.
"Dismissed," Aro ordered. Before his brother attempted to kill the hunter... again.
"You really shouldn't test his patience," Demetri warned as they moved away from the throne room. "Caius is not a patient nor forgiving man."
"If he would kindly stop talking down to me as if I was below him then I will back off."
"That's not going to happen," Felix snickered, as he joined their side. "Caius won't change his ways and he obviously wishes to make your life miserable in any way he can."
"He's an egotistical bloodsucker who doesn't know when he has lost a battle."
Demetri sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose. "You have a death wish," the tracker muttered.
Again, she smirked. "Well, it keeps things lively." As they continued on their way through the castle with no real destination in mind a thought came to the hunter, "Where do you normally practice fighting?"
"On the lower level in the east wing," Demetri stated. "Why?"
"I'm interested in training. I would like to have a handle on my hunting side before going out into the field. Now that I'm technically part of the Guard, something tells me I'll be using it more often."
"You only just healed, I do not think that is wise."
"Don't ruin our fun, Demetri," Felix cut in. "I for one want to go up against Kahlen again."
"While I'm not one to shy away from a challenge I'm going to have to pass this time. I'm not fully recovered. Maybe next time."
"I'll hold you to it. I still want to watch."
The hunter turned to look at the tracker. "Ready for round two, vampire?"
The room looked similar to that of the throne room, minus the small dais that held the chairs and the extravagant paintings from the past centuries collected. Kahlen slowly moved towards one side of the room, having dropped the bag by the door, and stared up at the high ceiling. It offered light through the tall windows. Demetri removed his coat and dress vest, exposing the black button up shirt underneath.
"Even if she's not up to full strength, how do you think she will fare?" Felix muttered.
He took his colleague's the garments and draped them over an arm. Glancing over in the young woman's direction the tracker watched her for a moment.
