There were three more packages that came over the course of the next two months. Each one produced a side effect that hindered the young woman's performance in some way. Which sent them back to the drawing board to find a new solution. Then, it came in the form of a dark blue oval shaped pill.

"Any side effects?" Carlisle asked. Nearly a week went by since receiving the item and so far,

"Nothing to report," Kahlen answered. "Felix hasn't been able to land a hit on me for three days and it annoys him."

The vampire chuckled on his end. "Well, I am very pleased to see that none of the side effects have made themselves known. But we should still be wary."

"Of course. They have been following me around constantly."

"I told you they were worried."

Kahlen's eyes rolled. "Can you approve me for missions?"

"I'll see what I can do. But the brothers may want to hold off a bit longer."

"I need to get out of this castle, doc. I don't do well being cooped up. You should know that by now."

"Yes, I'm well aware. I'll call the front desk and ask for Aro."

As the young woman hung up there was movement to her left, turning to find Jane. "My brother wants to know what's keeping you," she said. "Since Chelsea told him the drug you are taking seems to be working."

"I had to let the doctor know I was still in one piece without any setbacks." The two walked towards the training room, hearing Felix and Demetri still facing off against each other.

"What is it with guys throwing around the other and finding joy in it?" Jane asked.

Kahlen's shoulders shrugged. "I'll admit that it is gratifying to wipe the floor with your opponent when you face off against the threat," the hunter said. "I'm sure you feel the same when inflicting pain on others." The corner of the twin's lips twitched in a small smirk. "Throwing around comrades doesn't give me the same excitement, but it is fun to mess with them, no?"

The young woman threw up an arm the moment they stepped inside. Redirecting Alec's 'surprise' attack. "Guess you are better," the brother stated. Their eyes meet. "You weren't that quick two weeks ago."

She still sported the lingering yellow discoloration along the lower jaw from the punch she didn't manage to block in time. "Lucky for me." In turn she swiped back causing him to pull away at a distance.

"Finally, a challenge from you," Alec taunted.

The hunter cocked a brow, adjusting her bun so it remained good and tight. "Trust me, you're gonna wish I was still on that medication from before."

Jane stepped back, observing the two as they squared off. This... was going to be good.

"Aro." The vampire looked up from his paperwork to see Kahlen standing in the doorway. "Can we talk?"

"Of course, come in." The door shut behind her and the young woman sat across the desk. "Where's Demetri?"

"Felix took him out... I asked him to..."

He chuckled. "He's grown rather attached." It was hard to find a moment when they weren't together.

She gave a sad smile. "And that's a problem..."

And the vampire knew. "You're leaving."
