"Demi!" A fury filled voice called bright and early the next day. Demi tried to ignore it, but soon it grew louder. "Demetria Devonne Lovato! Get your lazy ass out of bed!" The woman screamed. Demi rolled over and fluttered her eyes to get her vision back.

"What do you want?" Demi whined. Then, she realized what day it was. "What time is it?" Demi asked as she jumped out of the bed to put a rush on her morning routine.

"Let's just say you were supposed to leave 10 minutes ago," Marissa clarified. Demi groaned and went even faster. She didn't care that she was dropping stuff. She knew Kevin Sr. would be livid that she was late.

"Is he here yet?" Demi asked looking in her closet for shoes. Marissa hadn't said a word yet.

"Yes, he is," A strong male voice boomed through the room. Demi looked up and mentally threw herself down a flight of stairs. "Let's go," Demi and Marissa watched as he left the room.

"That was intense," Marissa breathed. Demi nodded and the two left the room.

Kalani woke up at 10, which was strange since Isaac usually woke up at 6. Come to think of it, she slept the entire night which is not okay when she had a 6-week old son. She looked at the empty crib not really paying attention to the fact that she was alone in her room. Quickly, she did a double take back at it. Kalani hopped out of her bed and sprinted out of her room. "MEREDITH!" Kalani screamed. Calmly, Meredith walked out of her room with coffee in her hand.

"What?" Meredith asked. Kalani started to freak. "Kali calm down. What is going on?" Meredith yelled.

"Isaac's gone!" Kalani broke down. Meredith quickly put down her coffee cup and grabbed a hold of Kalani.

"Kali, it's okay. Isaac is with James right now. Go get ready, someone is coming over to talk to you," Meredith said, making sure Kalani was on her feet and steady before grabbing her cup again, and going back to her room.

Demi finally showed up outside a group home twenty minutes late, grabbed her purse, and walked up to the house. On the way to the house, her manager told her she was going to be able to adopt the girl that she was looking at on the website. Demi was starting to get excited, as her feet carried her closer to the house. "Demi!" Meredith screamed, hugging her.

"Meredith, what are you doing here?" Demi asked. They walked into the house and sat at the counter.

"I take care of the girls here," she said. Demi and Meredith were friends as kids and they loved each other. Once a sound was heard, the women found themselves looking at the stairs seeing Kalani cascade from them. "Speaking of them. Here is the girl you asked about. This is Kalani," Meredith introduced as the teenager smiled and sat across from Demi. "I'll let you two talk," she excused to quickly leave and let the two get to know each other.

"So Kalani, I'm Demi," she started. Kalani got up from the stool and went to the drawing covered fridge to get a drink. Demi noticed a small bump in Kalani's small frame as she turned. It gave Demi a suspicion, but she shrugged it off.

"You want one?" Kalani asked, setting a soda on the counter. Demi shook her head and watched Kalani close the fridge door. "So, Demi... Why do you want to adopt me?" Kalani asked as she popped open the bottle, and waited for the answer. "There are a bunch of kids and babies, but why a teenager?" Kalani questioned while taking a sip.

"Your profile was great and I fell in love instantly," Demi smiled. Kalani matched it and moved hair out of her face.

"This could work," Kalani gave Demi a pen and pad.

"What's this?" Demi asked. Kalani smirked and took a deep breath, and started. Demi tried to write down as much as possible.

"My favorite color is light sky blue. I love watching Burn Notice. I hate pizza ever since 6th grade. I am very dramatic. I have a sister who isn't really my sister, but I call her that. Oh, and I..." Before she could finish her phone rang, and she put in on speakerphone. "Hello?" She said bubbly.

"Bitch, why is it when I wake up my mom is taking care of IT. Come and take this damn mistake. I told you when you got pregnant to abort it, but no. If you ever bring this thing to my house again I swear. Your dad didn't want you like I don't want him. Listen, slut, you wanted to keep it so you take care of it," The guy yelled before he hung up. Kalani started to tear up. Demi moved around the counter and held Kalani. Surprisingly, she held her back.

"Who was that?" Demi asked in a whisper.

"James Maslow or my sons' father. I am a teen mom, but I have to go get him and my sister so..." Kalani got up and grabbed the keys from the dish.

"Hey, why don't we walk, and since I'm gonna adopt you, I might as well get know more about you," Demi suggested. Kalani nodded and went to the living room. Demi naturally followed her. There was a blue blanket draped over a brown stroller.

"Demi, who's he?" Kalani asked pointing the big man that had followed them out the door and down the street in a black suit jacket and jeans. Demi looked back to see her bodyguard following them.

"That's Max. He will be protecting us from crazy fans and stuff," Kalani stopped in her tracks in front of the familiar house.

"Wait," Demi turned on her heels and looked at her. "Fans...protection..." Kalani looked at Demi's shoes. "Marc Jacobs... Y-you're De-" Demi clasped her hand around Kalani's mouth.

"Shh...yes. I'm The Demi Lovato. Please don't scream," Demi kept her hand over Kalani's mouth. "Are you gonna scream?" Demi asked. Kalani shook her head. "Kalani, are you gonna scream?" She watched the girl roll her eyes, and nod. "Kalani I'm going to let go but I will tackle you if you scream," Demi warned. She did as she promised and let go. Kalani bit her lip and took deep breaths.

"Uhm, you and Max stay here I'm gonna go get Isaac," Kalani skipped up to the house, feeling like nothing was going to crush her mood. The feelings came crashing down when James opened the door. He roughly shoved the car seat, with crying Isaac, at her. Luckily the porch was sort of big or else she might have fallen. "Ugh, rude much?" She spat at him. James chuckled with no humor at the comment.

"Bitch much?" He snapped back. As she walked off the porch, James said he almost forgot the diaper bag. With great force, he threw it, and surprisingly Demi caught it. Kalani rolled her eyes and snapped the car seat on top of the stroller.

"He's got a nice arm," Demi said, putting the diaper bag in the undercarriage of the stroller.

"Quarterback of the football team," Kalani informed. Demi shrugged, understanding now. Kalani checked the time and started to walk towards the house once again.
