Vic's point of veiw
"Fuck!" I whisper-shout as I get stabbed in my calf by a thorn. Kellin and I are venturing our sorry asses around the forest in another direction, leaving little orange flags every few feet so we don't get lost. We had got up early and collected a bunch of twigs and orange colored paper, taping little squares of orange onto the twigs so we could do this.
"Thorn?" Kellin asks from ahead of me as he pushes branches out of his way. I mumble a yeah and continue on, being more careful to move any thorns out of my way, placing down a flag in the ground on the way. We really had no end plan in this, we're just fucking around.
"Vic," Kellin said, pausing and turning to face me with those pretty blue eyes. "I don't think we're gunna find anything, we've been out here for like 30 minutes now. Wanna start heading back?" He said and I shrugged.
"Yeah. It still nice to get away though." I said, turning around and walking back where we came from, keeping my eye out for orange flags.
"Yeah, even though we didn't get anywhere it was still fun." Kellin says from behind me, his voice sounding content. I pull out my phone real quick, checking the time. The number flashes on the screen, telling me it's 9. I hope we get back in time for breakfast.
"Hey." Kellin says, after a few feet of silence, another orange flag picked up.
"Yeah?" I respond, spotting another flag and heading in its direction.
"We should go for a swim tonight. Like go to dinner as early as possible, eat quickly and then swim and watch the sunset. Not to sound like wierd or shit I just love sunsets and watching one here would be great." Kellin says, starting off super confident and slowly trailing off as his words progress.
I smiled while bending over to pick up another flag. "Sounds like you're asking me on a date, Kellin." I say, teasing him. My first impression of Kellin was that he was outgoing and fun, not serious at all but it seems the more I'm around him the more shy and quiet he seems.
"What if I am?" He says, sounding almost offended. "I mean, I'm not, but... Ugh never mind." He says and I laugh.
"You get so flustered, my goodness. Yeah, I was hoping you'd ask honestly. I'm up for it." I say, claiming him down a bit. I hear him let out a sigh as I find another flag.
"Okay, I'm sorry. You just make me... I don't know. Really nervous. You're intimidating. I'm usually really outgoing but, you kind of terrify me." Kellin says. That makes me stop. I've been told I'm intense, off putting, and scary occasionally but I usually don't pay attention to it. It's never donned on me that my serious manner might make some people intimidated, and then me suddenly being all fun and nice and not intimidation just confuse the shit out of Kellin.
"Well damn." I say, turning around where I see Kellin staring at his shoes anxiously. "Sorry, I don't really realize how intimidating I am, I guess. " I say, we're both quiet and then I think of something that might make him a bit less scared of me.
"Ya wanna know something?" I said. Kellin looked up and shrugged. "I don't have friends at all. Not one. I don't have time for it between work and school. Ive never dated anyone or even had a first kiss" I smirked deciding to take it even one step further, leaning in close. "I havent jerked off in months because I don't have time, literally. You have no reason to be intimidated by me, I'm a wierdo." I said, grinning at Kellins shocked face.
"You're the closest thing I have to a friend in my life right now. " I said, leaning back so that I was standing straight and shrugging. Kellins mouth was slightly open, with his eyebrows raised, amusement clear in his expression.
