I just realized this is the second to last chapter ): oh. Also this chapter is fucking long

Vic's point of view, a couple days later

Today's the day, the day we've been working towards this whole time- Performance Day.

They'd already told us we'd be the 4th band to perform. During the other performances we would be sitting in the audience with the other bands and after our performance we'd go right back there. After all the performances were done, the judges would leave for about ten minutes to decide the winner. During that time, we were to stay put, our nerves overflowing. When the judges finish, they'll come on stage and announce the winner, who will come onstage and accept their prize. Now we're all lined up waiting to be let into the performance are which really just the field but with a stage and a bunch of chairs and a curtain put up to signify an entrance, which is what we were waiting out side of.

Tomorrow we'd be leaving here, saying goodbye to one another for a while and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shitting myself  about it. Leaving Kellin was gunna fucking hurt, but last night we talked and promised we'd try. We'd video chat every night and they to meet up every few weekends, send Eachother lots of cute gifts in the mail, eat lunch over video chat on Wednesdays, whatever, we're gunna work this out.

"Hey, huddle up team." I said, breaking myself from my mini stress attack. All of The Accidents formed a circle and we put our arms around one another, leaning down slightly like we're a football team and I'm the coach.

"Today, whatever happens happens. But, this is cheesy sorry, I don't think there's any way we can really loose because out of everyone here, we have the biggest prize. We all came here, 5 lonely and edgy teenagers and we're leaving 5 happy and joyful friends. The other bands don't have that. They're all standing around blankly, making boring conversation, awkwardly mumbling to each other, but we're more than some kids who did something together at a music camp, were some kids who became long time friends at a music camp. And if we leave with nothing else, we leave with that: 4 new friends and shit load of memories." I said with an air of lightness in my voice.

Everyone nodded, letting what I said resonate. We all patted each others backs and broke up, still standing in a circle. Lynn looked down and said  "I love you guys. Sometimes even Vic."  The others all laughed as she smiled at me and I flipped her off.

"I love you guys too. Thank you for being more of a friend to me than anyone ever has. " Emily said timidly, as usual, and Jared automatically groaned.

"Don't get sappy on me dudes, I don't need to be crying before we fucking go out there and show all these ugly kids what real music is. I won't look edgy enough." We all rolled our eyes at him, and grinned at each other.

"Come on, u assholes. Group hug." Kellin sighed, opening his arms and nodding his head while we all huddled into a hug.

Through a megaphone we heard one of the instructors shout, "You may now enter and take a seat. Look for your bands name plate and sit on that row. Thank you."  Without further ado, we headed in. Our name was four rows in, of course. We sat down with me on the edge closest to the exit and Kellin next to me. The rest followed as Lynn Emily and then Jared.

An instructor got on stage with a megaphone that wasn't really necessary and called out, "first band, Black Razor."

This was, of course, the metal head band who, of course, did a metal song. Just one. Personally, I liked it but it was generic. And it was obvious only one of the three judges was into metal and she didn't look too pleased either. When they finished the judges gave them some critic, mostly the judge that liked metal though. She told them exactly what I was thinking, including how generic their song was.
