Stolen Heart

Chapter 18

Ross POV-
Sarah spent the rest of the car ride to the airport in my arms, and an occasional sniffle was heard here and there. She wouldn't talk the whole way there.

We arrived at the airport soon, and we got our tickets, and put away our luggage to be put on the plane. Not a word was spoken out of Sarah's mouth. We sat in our section to board. "Beautiful," I said. "Talk to me."

She looked at me with tear filled eyes. "What's gonna happen to me? To us? To me and Riker's relationship?" She sobbed. "What if this happens again?"

I shook my head. "I know you're worried but this won't happen again. I'll make sure of it." I assured her.

"But what if it does? What will happen Ross?" She asked. "I-I don't know. But let's just figure out when it happens." I said as I wrapped my arms around her. She lightly sobbed into my chest, and our flight soon was called.

We boarded the plane, and sat down in our seats in silence, until the plane took off. "I'm gonna sleep." Sarah said. "Want to lay your head on my lap?" I suggested. She nodded sleepily, then laid her head onto my legs. I stroked her hair, then heard light snores soon come from her. She's asleep.

I couldn't sleep. I was too busy thinking about those questions. What if it did happen?

Those questions swarmed around in my head, until my eye lids drooped, and I drifted to sleep.

I woke up the next day, to see that the plane has landed. I shook Sarah awake gently, and grabbed our bags. "Wake up sleeping beauty." I said as I reached for our last bag.

She groaned, then stood up to grab her bag. We walked out of the plane hand in hand, then called Rydel.

"Hey Rydel!" I said. "Ross! Where are you?" She asked. "At LAX airport. Come pick us up!" I said. "With Sarah?!" She asked. "With Sarah." I replied, then hung up the phone.

"Rydel is coming to pick-" I started, then I saw Sarah's sad expression. "What's wrong?" I asked. "What are my siblings going to do?" She asked. I shrugged. "Be happy that you're home." I said. "Ya sure." She said sarcastically.

I opened my mouth to speak, but a honk of a horn interrupted me. I turned to see Rydel in the car with all of Sarah's siblings with her.

"Jump in!" Rydel said. We grabbed our luggage, and piled it into the car. I closed the trunk, and before I could get into the back seat, I heard a familiar voice.

"Wait!" The voice said. "I'm coming too!"

I turned around to see the person I didn't want to see for a long time.
