Sarah POV-
I walked to the office window and said, "How old does someone have to be to take care of a fourteen year old and an eight year old?"
"Eighteen." Anne Marie replied. "Then tell me why my brothers were taken away from me when I am eighteen." I said, clearly infuriated. "I'm not sure ma'am. But you may take Joey and Derek out right away, for free if you'd wish." She replied. I nodded. "It better be free." I said, then walked back to their room.
"Derek!" I shouted. His head jerked in my direction. "Y-yes?" He asked. "Pack your things," I said gently. "You're coming with us."
A smile spread across his face, then quickly started packing. I smiled too, and helped them both pack everything we needed, then before we knew it we were out of there.
We walked to the door, hand in hand. But someone walked in that seemed vaguely familiar.
She looked like..
"Sarah," Joey said interrupting my thoughts, "That looks like Mommy."
My dead mother, she's here.
I attempted to scan her face to see if it was actually her, but she walked so fast to the desk I couldn't get a glimpse.
"Hi, I'm here to get Derek and Joey Matthews." She said to the woman. My grip tightened around the hands. "I'm sorry someone already took them out." Anne Marie said. My 'mother' turned her head in our direction, and her eyes softened. "Sarah?" She questioned.
"Mom?"
She walked over to me, and then touched her hand to my face. I felt tears surface my eyes as I saw my mother, the one who was supposedly dead, here in my presence.
She nodded her head, answering my question that she is my mother. My tears were then replace with anger. "Why didn't you come to see me?" I asked her, "I thought tou were dead!"
"I'm sorry! I didn't die your father did, and I thought if I came back I would scare you. I didn't plan for you to find out like this." She explained. "Well I'm a little spooked right now!" I spat.
"Explain to me why Derek and Joey were taken away from me. You know, since you knew they were here." I asked.
"I hired those guys to take them out of the house. I didn't think you can handle it anymore, and I thought you would want to finish your last year of high school instead of online." She explained. I shook my head, "If my mother were really here, she would have came to me as soon as possible, not leave me alone." I said, then walked off.
I heard her sigh, and as soon as I did, I knew she wouldn't be leaving me alone.
