"Does everyone understand?" Hank Voight glances across the bullpen.

"Yes, sarge." Kim Burgess responds, speaking for the unit.

The last thing he wanted to do was fly. He hated flying. But, if it meant he got to play his partner's husband for a few weeks, he wouldn't complain.

"Halstead, my office." Jay rolls his eyes, preparing for the usual, "keep it in you pants speech"

"You rang?" Halstead took a seat in the chair, closing the door behind him.

"Don't be a smart ass, Halstead. I hope you know this vacation to Hawaii isn't a vacation. You have to keep your cover, and their will be nothing going on with Erin. You'll be keeping it in your pants." Voight opens the door, motioning for Halstead to leave. "See you at seven a.m sharp."

Jay nods, walking over to his desk and shutting down his computer, and walking over to Erin's desk. "Er, you packed?"

"Yes." She looked up and couldn't help the tingly feeling shooting through her veins. "Playing your wife will be a challenge. I'll have to start letting you drive." She smiled playfully as they walked to their cars.

Jay couldn't help but place his hand on her shoulder. "I'll challenge you, all you want." He smirked, opening her car door. "I even packed scrabble."

"Now did you?" Erin's eyes lit up, her lips rolling up into a smile. "We might just have to play. We will have our own room." She smiles, getting into the car. "See you tomorrow, Halstead."

The loud alarm of his phone awakens him, and a sigh fills the room. "God dammit."

Jay shifts in the bed, the other half perfectly made. His heart ached, knowing that Erin was not his. He sits up, and walks over to his drawer, grabbing a pair of cargo shorts and a blue collared shirt.

Walking into his kitchen and packing the last of his belongings into his duffle bag, he mentally checked the various toiletries off before slapping himself realizing he almost forgot the most important thing.

Unlocking the safe in one of his cabinets, he reaches for the small red velvet box holding his mother's wedding ring. The district offered to supply a ring, but Erin was more than a partner to him, and in the back of his head he hoped one day it would be real.

As he checks his list off one more time and glances around the small apartment, he slings his duffle bag over his shoulder and closes the apartment door.

As if it was a regular day, he stops to get two glazed doughnuts from their favorite local doughnut shop "Jeds", and Erin always handles the coffee.

"Detective, where is the lovely partner of yours?" A man pops his head out of the window, knowing Jay and Erin as regular customers.

"Hey, Tim. Erin? She's at work already. We got a undercover gig we gotta do for a few weeks, so we'll be gone for a few days." Jay hands him the $2.16 as usual, receiving the bag from Tim.

"Undercover, huh? Sounds intense, man. Make sure to catch those perps for me." Tim laughs, his Chicago accent getting the better of him. "And say hi to the lady of yours for me."

"Will do so, brother. See you in a few weeks." Jay shakes his hand before driving his black car to the district.

"Don't get use to driving, Jay." He rolls down his window to see Lindsay in the other lane.

"Lindsay, or should I say, Halstead, trust me, after this mission, you'll be begging me to drive you around." The light turns green as the two vehicles part ways.

Jay rolls his eyes, continuing the drive to the 21st. He loved playing house husband secretly, but would he ever confess that to anyone? Hell no. He loved the way Lindsay teased and taunted him, how she was so strong in her beliefs. She was perfect in every single way. And he planned to let her know that this weekend.

"Lindsay." Jay walked over to her car after grabbing his duffle bag.

"Halstead. Here is your coffee." Erin hands him his coffee as he hands her her doughnut.

"Thanks." They both said at the same time, smiling. "Put your bag in my car, Jay. If you're driving you are at least driving my car." She removes his bag from his shoulder, tossing it into the grey vehicle.

"Er." Jay grabbed her shoulder, reaching into his pocket. "Here. This is for you." He reached for the velvet box, opening it for her and smiling. "It has to look real, so here."

"Jay." She gasped, her eyes filling with tears. "What is this?" Jay gently slid the ring on her finger, looking up at her, tears sliding down her cheeks.

"My mother's ring. You deserve it." Jay smiled, using the pads of his thumbs to wipe away the tears. "Don't cry, Erin." He laughed, pulling her into a hug.

"Jay, you shouldn't have." She mumbles into his chest. "It's beautiful, Jay, thank you." She pulls her head back from his chest, looking down at the diamond ring. Her heart was so full of love and happiness, but also, it was aching with pain. The pain knowing it wasn't real. The pain knowing they'd never work.

"You're worth it, Erin." He looks into her eyes, sensing the same pain she was, wishing it'd be real. "Mrs. Halstead, are you ready for your honeymoon?" He smiled as they began their way into the district.

"More than ready. Lets have fun and kick ass." She buzzed them up into the bullpen, the sounds if her sandals filling the stairway.

"Nice of you both to join us." Voight looks at Erin and Jay, before turning his attention back to the board. "Jay and Erin will be catching the ten a.m flight, while the rest of us will take the three p.m flight. We all will be in the same hotel." Voight takes a deep breathe. "Halstead, Lindsey, here are your rings." He takes out the rectangle box.

"Hank, already got one. I'm using Jay's mother's." Erin happily runs her hand over the eight carrot diamond ring, oblivious to the icy glare Hank was giving Jay.

"Well then, Halstead. Here is yours." Hank tosses him the ring before returning to his office.

"You both know the plan. Damien Zazo will arrive at six p.m tonight at the resort. You both signed up for a scuba diving class, so Jay, get to know him, gamble with him, just gain his trust. Once you see the operation, we take him and his accomplices down." Alvin explains before handing Halstead an envelope. "Here are your tickets. See you later today. Don't forget, Tropics at eight thirty for drinks."

"See you guys later." Erin said as she and Jay walked out of the bullpen.

"So, how much we willing to bet that they screw each other on this mission?" Ruzek whispered to Atwater, laughing into his ear.

"A drink. Actually, a whole night of drinks. It'll happen. And we have the room next to them, ahh this should be a blast." Atwater replied to Ruzek.

"We will here them loud and clear. She seems like a crier." Ruzek leaned back in his chair, laughing to Atwater and himself.
