Hey everyone! Sorry for the late update, but yeah I'm still sick, haha! Thank you all for the reviews, I read all of them and it brings me pure joy! Hope you like this chapter! If you do, give it a review :))

Jay and Erin sat in the office, waiting for the principal at Jaxton's school. Today was a special day.

November 1st

Jaxton would finally be theirs. It was quarter till noon. They had a meeting with the principal scheduled at noon to talk about Jaxton's new living situation.

Then, they would go down to the courthouse and sign the papers, and officially become a family. Jay and Erin were beyond excited.

"Are you Jaxton's parents?" A man stood in front of them, wearing khaki pants and a button up shirt.

Jay and Erin stood up, shaking hands. "That is us." Jay smiled. The principal motioned for them to follow him back to his office.

"So you both are detectives?" He held the door open for them, closing it behind Jay.

Erin and Jay sat down on the two chairs the office had. "Yes, we work for Intelligence."

"You are are Jay Halstead, and Erin Lindsay, correct?" The principal asked.

They both nodded, confirming his assumptions.

"I'm John Sapp, the head principal for the Junior High. Here is the paperwork for Jaxton's new contacts." John handed them a stack of papers and they happily broke it in half. "Please, call me John."

They both nodded, taking out their pens and started writing away.

"Now, I understand you are both on call twenty four seven. What is the plan for Jaxton if you can't get him? We want our students to be safe." John himself had family in law enforcement, so he knew the struggles of having a set schedule.

"We will most likely have him be picked up by one of our brothers, or he will ride the bus to the district and will hang out there in the break room." Erin looked up from her paper.

"Er, What last name are we putting down?" Jay didn't want to tell Erin he wanted to put down 'Halstead' but he hoped she would agree.

"I think Halstead is good." She didn't look up from her papers.

Forty five minutes later, all the paperwork was finally on Principal Sapp's desk. "Jaxton is a very good kid. He definitely has a bright future ahead of him. If you need anything please give the office a call and we will take care of it."

All three of the adults stood up and shook hands. When Jay and Erin left the office, followed by Jon, Jaxton was awaiting them.

"Jaxton, your parents are here." The secretary smiled, Jaxton looking up.

His smile stretched from ear to ear and he ran over to them. "Erin! Jay!" He hugged Jay's middle, Jay happily accepting it.

"Hi, bud! You ready to go make this official?" Jay smiled, wrapping his arm around Erin.

"Let's go! I'll see you tomorrow Mr. Sapp!" Jaxton waved. "By Mrs. Henderson!" Jaxton walked out the door, Jay and Erin quickly saying goodbye.

They all walked out and got into the car. "So, are we going to Purple Pig tonight, or is that Friday?" Jaxton asked.

"That's Friday, buddy." Jay laughed. "But I like your thinking. I figured tonight we could have some steak on the grill."

"Like a grill out? Can we have baked potatoes, too?" Jaxton eagerly asked.
