"Erin Lindsay, will you do the honor and marry me?"

She couldn't believe what she just heard.

Jay Halstead was asking her to marry him? After everything they had been through together here the two of them were.

Jay Halstead was down on one knee and she was sitting on the edge of their bed in complete shock.

All the memories of knowing each other started coming to her mind.

Their first time meeting.

"Erin Lindsay." She nodded to her new partner.

Their first hard case sleepover

"I'm not going anywhere, Erin."

Seeing his eyes after three horrifying days.

"God, you're alive baby. I thought I lost you."

Agreeing to adopt Jaxton.

"Let's do it."

All of the moments of the past two years all slowly added up to this moment. The moment where her best friend proposed. "Yes." She smiled.

Jay stood up and moved closer to her. "Yes? You'll marry me?" Erin nodded and wrapped her arms around Jay's neck, kissing him deeply.

Jay rested his forehead against hers, as tears slipped down her cheeks at that moment. So full of happiness. "I was so nervous." She looked up at Jay who also had tears streaming down his cheeks.

She laughed softly, pecking his lips. "Why?"

"I was scared you'd say no." He looked at her embarrassed. "And yes, Hank knows."

"You asked?" She replied. Her heart swelled with love at the look on his face. She asked her father for his blessing?

"I asked." Jay kissed her again. They explored each other's mouths, memorizing their taste all over again. He moved them to the bed, laying down next to her. She rested her head on his chest, letting the sound of his heart soothe her.

Erin laughed slightly, grabbing Jay's attention. "What are you laughing about?" He asked, his fingers running through her hair.

"All the wedding planning. We are going to be so busy now." Ideas were already racing through her mind.

"Not to mention we have a son who will be a teenager in less than a month." Jay smiled. He had a son. "Did he tell you he made the basketball team?"

Erin looked up at her fiancé, and ran her hand over his cheek. "You're so happy being a dad, aren't you? Having a son."

"Beyond excited. I've always wanted a son. And with you? Even better." He kissed her forehead.

Erin looked down at the ring sparkling against the moonlight coming in from the window. "I love you, Jay Halstead."

"I love you too, Erin Lindsay." They were both right where they wanted to be- in each other's arms.
