{ I've gone back and edited (and rewritten just a little bit) the previous chapters, and I'll continue to do that. Also, I'm going on vacation pretty soon, and school will be starting again, so updates will be slower probably. Sorry. }
<~> Kara <~>
Kara sat in her apartment, looking down at all of the notes and quotes that she'd scribbled down onto her notepad, trying to decide how exactly to write her article. She needed to do it well so that it could be on the front page. Snapper was very picky.
As she read over them, she tapped her table with her fingers, only barely paying attention to what she was actually reading, and more trying to determine how long it would take to write this article. Just before she'd left Lena's office as Kara, she'd been about to ask her friend if she'd want to go and get lunch together, but then she'd remembered that she needed to publish this article as soon as possible, so she figured that she wouldn't have time.
But she desperately wanted to spend more time with Lena -- she hadn't been able to see her very often recently, because of work and all of the crimes that were being committed. But maybe she could still find a way to make time for lunch with the Luthor.
Turning her attention back to her notes that she had sprawled out in front of her, she tried to focus by telling herself that the quicker she got this done, the more free time she would have tomorrow. It would be nearly impossible for her to finish the entire article by tonight, because it was already fairly late in the day, but she might be able to have it done by noon tomorrow if she worked extremely hard on it.
Suddenly, her phone began to ring next to her and she picked it up to find that it was Alex. "Hey, sis." She greeted her, already brightening because she loved talking to her sister.
"Hey. So, I'm at the NCPD right now with Maggie." She began. "And they finished scanning that slab of metal that you brought to them. You could come over and hear the full report, or Maggie can tell you over the phone." Alex's next words were obviously directed at her girlfriend, but with Kara's incredible hearing she could barely make them out over the phone. "Is that alright? Can you just give her the details without her coming over?"
She assumed that Maggie had responded with yes, but would rather go and see her sister and friend in person rather than sit in her apartment. "I'll come over and see it."
"Great!" Alex said cheerfully. "See you soon. Love you, Kara."
"Love you too." She hung up the phone, then changed out of her Supergirl outfit which she was still wearing.
Leaving her apartment dressed in her usual attire, she headed for the NCPD, with her notepad in hand. If the prints on the metal matched the ones on the bomb, then Kara would be extremely happy. That would mean that she'd connected everything and traced it all back to the Emblazoned, surely no one else had done that and already published an article.
