{ Soccer and school just started again, so I won't be able to update too often, but I'll do my best. I've also become completely obsessed with The 100. Enjoy! }
<~> Lena <~>
Lena could feel several small cuts stinging, and her shoulder was burning with pain. She didn't know where she was, and she was too exhausted to open her eyes and find out for herself. Her whole body was aching, and when she tried to remember what had happened, she found that her memories were hazy and unclear. All she could remember was the vague image of an explosion and then being tossed into a wall. Wait... Kara had been there. Was she alright?
Suddenly, she felt something soft touching her hand, and forced her eyes open to see what it was. To her surprise and delight, it was Kara, sitting next to her, with her hand holding Lena's. The reporter was clearly asleep; her eyes were closed and she was breathing softly.
Lena shifted around to survey the room, and a piercing pain shot through her, causing her to wince. The machine monitoring her heartbeat sped up slightly as her shoulder throbbed. Soon, a nurse rushed into the room, hurrying over to the monitor and then looking down at Lena.
"Ms. Luthor, how are you doing?" She asked when she saw that she was awake. "I assume that your heart sped up because of the pain."
"Yes, my shoulder really hurts when I move it." She responded, then she felt something move beside her and looked over to see what it was. "Kara!" She exclaimed, when she saw that she'd awoken.
A smile spread across her face even though she wasn't in a desirable condition at the moment, and Kara grinned back at her, although she was clearly worried. "Lena! Are you alright? You took a really hard hit!"
"I think I'm alright, aside from the fact that I have several injuries." Lena assured her, she didn't want Kara to worry about her when there was no need to worry, then she looked back over at the nurse who was tending to her. "I'm sorry, please continue."
Kara waited patiently by Lena's side as the nurse asked her numerous questions about her injuries, and Lena was glad to have the company, especially when she had grown so close to the reporter. It was comforting to have their hands still entwined, and it made her temporarily forget about the dire condition that she was currently in.
"Get some rest, Ms. Luthor." The nurse suggested, then she headed out of the door and shut it behind her, leaving Lena alone in the room with Kara.
"Kara... What exactly happened?" She asked, trying to clear her mind, but it was difficult because everything seemed foggy and dazed. "I can't remember the details. Are you alright?"
