{ Right now, I'm in a cloud forest in Costa Rica, and it's really cool out here. I'm trying to keep up with updates. Anyways, I hope you enjoy. }

     "But, Kara, you are my true hero." Lena said, meaning every word.

     The reporter blushed, looking cute as she smiled shyly and looked down at her knees. "W-Wow, thanks."

     "Remember when I told you that quite a while ago, right after I was released from prison." She asked, and Kara's head snapped up as she smiled and nodded. "Those were rough times. Very, very, very, rough times."

     "I hate to be a Negative Nancy, but isn't it always sort of rough around here." Kara said, and Lena had to agree with her. "With all of the evil aliens running around and your mother."

     "Negative Nancy?" Lena asked, raising one eyebrow and laughing slightly. She couldn't remember the last time that someone had said that, in fact, she was fairly certain that no one had ever said that until now. It was kind of cute.

     "Yeah..." Kara grinned. "Haven't you heard someone say that before?"

     "No. Have you?"

     Kara smiled sheepishly. "Well, once, my adoptive mom said it."

     "Oh, I forgot that you had adoptive parents." Lena said, surprised. How could she have forgotten about that? "At least yours were better than mine."

     "Well, yeah." Kara said. "My foster dad... Something bad happened to him recently. It was actually Cadmus... And Lillian."

     "I'm so sorry." Lena felt despair flood through her. Her mother had ruined yet another family. "If there's anything I can do to help you... I wish I could do something to fix what Lillian has broken."

     "Y'know, just being a great friend really helps." Kara said, smiling sweetly. "I've lost a lot of people. My real parents among them. But you, Alex, and a few other friends really keep me going. I don't know what I'd do without you."

     "I feel the same way about you."

     "I wrote an article earlier that I'm really hoping will get put on the front page!" Kara exclaimed suddenly. "Make sure to watch out for it." She said with a wink.

     Lena couldn't remember if she'd ever seen Kara's work make the front page, and based on the reporter's words, she guessed that she was extremely excited. "I'll be the first to see it." She promised her. "How long have you been a reporter?"
