<~> Kara <~>
Kara shot through the sky, constantly scanning the ground with her x-ray vision in order to find where the Emblazoned were hiding. Rage pulsed through her. She had to make them pay for what they'd done to Lena.
She refused to give up her search, even after two circles around all of National City in search of their base. What they'd done to the people was unforgivable, what they'd done to Lena... She was filled with that thought, and it seemed like it had ignited anger inside of her that had previously been hidden. They'd hurt her. They'd hurt Lena.
Then she recalled that the DEO knew the general location of the Emblazoned, but when they found out they hadn't told her because they didn't want her rushing in alone. But she planned on doing just that. She had to get revenge, and she didn't want to put any DEO agents at risk by doing that.
She landed at the DEO just a few seconds later and stormed inside. All heads snapped up to look at her as they undoubtedly sensed her angry presence, but Kara didn't care at all. J'onn was watching the screen, and he too turned when he either heard or sensed her enter.
"Supergirl. What's wrong?" He asked immediately, clearly seeing her furious expression.
"Where are the Emblazoned hiding?" She demanded, standing just a few steps away from him.
He immediately understood what was going on. "I can't say. I won't allow you to rush in by yourself."
"J'onn." Kara said. She wasn't in the mood for this at the moment. She really needed to just get this information and leave. "They did something horrible. I need to punish them."
"Punish them?" J'onn asked. "You aren't sounding like yourself. What did they do to you?"
"They hurt my friend. They might've injured her for life." Kara said, her voice raising as she became more desperate and angry. "They deserve this. I must avenge her. I can't let them hurt anyone else."
"Supergirl." J'onn protested. "Please. We need to come up with a plan of attack. You can't go in alone and risk hurting yourself. I made a promise to protect you."
"I don't care if I get hurt!" Kara was shouting now, but J'onn didn't back away. Everyone was listening in on their conversation now. "Look what they've done to this city! To Lena!"
Tears began to stream freely down her face.
J'onn stepped forwards and embraced her tightly. She clung to him as the sadness spread throughout her. What would she do if Lena was permanently injured? She had no idea. She couldn't bear to think about that.
