"uhm, hyeri?" a voice broke the comfortable silence. it was not the nurse, nor the doctor.

i got startled by the voice and looked to see a tall guy standing with 2 paper bags, and one flower bouquet. when i turned around, he immediately dropped whatever he was carrying and rushed to me.

he carefully placed his hands on my wet cheeks, before embracing me into his arms. it was really awkward having a tall guy hugging me when i'm sitting on the hospital bed.

this hug felt so familliar. everything felt so familliar. the hug, his touch, his voice, his scent.

i was saddened when he pulled away, because i loved the feeling of him hugging me. it was as if i was meant to be hugged by him. it was as if he could protect me from the harsh reality.

i looked up to meet his eyes, which has now became watery. i could feel the sincerity in his eyes. his skin was flawless. he has relatively broad shoulders. now seeing him tearing up, he looked like a kind person. but i'll never let my guards down, for he may be the reason why i ended up here.

"hyeri, i'm sorry. i could've known better. i could've done everything, i could've made you happy, i could've done everything, for you not be here i'm sor-"

"who are you?"

his eyes widened and he let out a half-hearted laugh, because i knew he knew this situation was very absurd.

"ah, it's true. i- i didn't believe your mom's words. i didn't want to believe you have amnesia. i'm bae jinyoung,"

he extended his hand for a handshake, before adding on "the guy who loves you"
