I reconsidered my choice for a minute. Red or pink. Red, definitely red. I applied red lipstick on my lips and rubbed some blush on my flushed cheeks. My outfit looked amazing. Black high waisted flared pants, navy blue lace blouse and a black leather jacket to keep me warm.
World started to spin suddenly and I had to hold dresser for support and took a long breath.
Those memories. They were now a permanent part of me. Oh, how much I wanted them go away. I would trade away my brain just to get rid of them. There were few missed calls on my phone from a hidden caller id. I was afraid to pick it up because I knew it was my father. He had never called me all these years. Why now?
I took out the car and drove to Aerrin's golf club. I could hear the music blaring as I got out of the car. People were going up the stairs that were carved into cliff. When I got on the top of the cliff, I stopped breathing. There was a large open space with a beautiful stone railing built on the edge of cliff. You could see the whole golf course and the sea which crashed against the borders. On the other side was a beautiful double story clubhouse, with glass walls. The glass doors were open and all the snacks and drinks were inside. People were dancing. Some were looking over the edge and drinking. The music was bearable.
I looked for Aerrin. There were no known faces. None of my friends were here. I hoped they didn't forget about the party. I texted them, just in case they did. I went inside the clubhouse. There was a corridor which led to another lounge and a small backyard, where a lot of people were making out. "This party was supposed to be a 'get to know each other' party not 'eat each others faces' party!" I smiled at Aerrin's voice. I turned around and hugged him. He awkwardly hugged, so I pulled back quickly. I smiled at him. He smiled back.
"How are you Fia?" He asked,
"I'm good." I answered awkwardly. "How big is this place? And how come you or dad never brought me here?"
"You've never been here before? That's weird. By the way how's the party." He quickly changed the topic. Dad came here with Aerrin's father and their other friends a lot. "It's great!" I said grinning."Where are your friends?" He asked looking around.
"Oh they're not here yet." I said, looking around.
"Come, I'll introduce you to my friends." He said."One week and you have made friends? Not bad Aerrin. Not bad at all!" He smiled, which didn't seem genuine at all. I wanted to ask if he was okay. But then I thought I was reading too much into it. He walked towards a group of good and rich looking people. He introduced me to everyone.
Dr Gael's (my college's dean) daughter Elaf was in the group too. She looked beautiful in her beautiful grey dress and black heels. Her brown hair reached her waist. She flipped her hair and brought her hand forward for me to shake. I shook it. Softest hands I've ever shook.
"So you're THE Sofia, he talks so much about. Nice to meet you finally." I had seen and heard about before, she was quite famous for her beauty but there were rumors too about her family. I knew she lived in with her father and her younger brother after her parents got divorced. Leaving her twin brother to live with her mother somewhere in Europe. I heard that in high school, even though she went to another school.
I could totally see the beauty. She was just a little shorter than me. "Yeah, does he say ant nice things about me?" I asked jokingly. Aerrin went and stood beside her.
"Oh yeah, all good things, I promise. So, he tells me you study medicine at my Dad's college?"
"Uh huh."
"Dad always wanted me to get into the medical school too. But I knew I couldn't do it. Too hard. So I got into business college. Best decision ever." She said, looking at Aerrin.
