"WTF!"

We've got less than a week left on our break and I miss Mani so much I could cry. We facetimed and talked everyday the first week, but that slowly started to stop over these past few days. I've called her twice and texted her three times today and she hasn't even  responded.

Idk maybe she's busy.

"Dinah Dinah!"

My annoying little sister yells running up the steps to my room.

"What Gina?"
"Someones at the door for you"
"Who is it?"
"I don't know why don't you get off your lazy butt and go see."

"Aaaaghhhhh" I groaned before getting off the bed and jogging down the steps.

I was taken back when I saw the person standing at the front door staring back at me.

"Hey, Dinah." he murmured nervously.
"Drew? what are you doing here?" I walked up to him giving him a hug.

"I'm out of school for the summer, so I decided to visit my family, I heard you were in town thought I'd stop by."

"Yeah yeah come on in, my dad's going to freak out when he sees you." I said as I dragged him through the house.

Drew is my ex boyfriend, we dated 2 years before I met Nela. I never told Normani about him because he moved away to go to college and we weren't really serious since we were only together for 6 months.

One thing I disliked about dating Drew was how much my dad liked him. They had gotten extremely close over the course of our relationship.

They liked the same teams, shared the same hobbies, even had the same shoe size. When Drew and I decided not to date anymore I was more upset about telling my dad than I was about the actual break up.

"Dad I have a surprise for you!" I said excitedly before entering his room. "Dinah no more of your fart jokes it's getting out of hand last night I had to spray the room for a whole 10 minutes."

"Dad!"  I scorned him as I put my hands over Drew's ears. His eyes grew wide when he turned & saw the now muscled guy standing in front of him.

"Drewski? Is that you?"
"In the flesh!"
"Aww man what are you doing in town, last I heard you were in school in Michigan."
"Yeah I'm studyi....."

I stepped out the room to allow the two time to catch up. I exhaled a deep breath as I walked outside, it was a beautiful day and the California sun beamed brightly on my skin.

I pulled out my phone attempting to facetime Mani again. "You're dad's still the coolest ever." Drew said walking up behind me. "Yeah and he's still crazy about you." I said while sliding my phone in my back pocket.

"Sorry about throwing you in there for him to talk your ear off, I just know how much it means to him to see you."

"Nah it's cool." Drew said while taking a seat in one of the lawn chairs. "Your dad's honestly one of the kindest people I've met. He reminds me of myself."

I bet.

"How's things going with you?"

"Great, I can't complain.

" I never got the opportunity to really tell you this Dinah, but I'm really proud of you. To see you living your dream is amazing, you deserve it."
