A/N: Sorry if this chapter is kinda short/crappy I've been trying to update for a couple weeks and finally got the motivation to finish. Hope you enjoy it anyways :)

The next morning, the entire family made their way in and out of Topanga's recovery room to greet their newest little arrivals, Charlotte and Noah Matthews.

Riley and Auggie were the first ones allowed  to hold the newborns and both were silenced in complete awe. Riley welcomed each of the babies with open arms and Auggie - a little more hesitant.

“Come closer, bubba. It's alright” said Cory when he noticed Auggie keeping a slight distance.

The young boy walked forward slowly with his hands behind his back. “They're so little..” said Auggie.

Topanga chuckled softly. “They are. Don't worry, you won't hurt them. Just be gentle”

Auggie joined his older sister on an empty chair and held each of his new siblings and suddenly all of the previous apprehension he felt faded away.

Once every member of the Matthews family had each got a moment to congratulate Cory and Topanga as well as see the babies, it was finally Katy's turn.

Cory and Shawn were talking outside of the room and Katy quietly entered.

Topanga instantly smiled and sat up slightly in her bed when she saw her friend. She held the sleeping twins in her arms and the natural sunlight from the open curtains filled the room.

“Oh my gosh, Topanga, they're beautiful. Congratulations, lady” Katy whispered softly as she walked closer near the bed.

Topanga beamed proudly, unable to take her eyes off the infants. “They are. They're our miracle babies for sure.”

As Katy lifted baby Charlotte from Topanga's arms she couldn't help but notice just how radiant and naturally gorgeous Topanga looked, even mere hours after giving birth.

The tiny infant sighed softly, her eyes fluttering open as Katy held her. As she marveled at this new little life in front of her, memories from the birth of her own two children entered her thoughts.

After a few moments of silence and baby admiring, Topanga caught Katy slightly off guard when she spoke up. “So. Are you planning on telling me what's been going on with you and Shawn any time soon or what?”

Katy scoffed nonchalantly, attempting to play it off. “Me and Shawn? We're good. Nothing’s going on”

Topanga's emerald green eyes narrowed at the blonde. “Katy…”

Katy bit her lip nervously, keeping her eyes focused downward on the baby. She sighed in defeat, knowing that Topanga wouldn't back down until she told her the truth. “Shawn and I have had our issues for the past few months. Being away from home more because of the Broadway show sort of put a strain on our relationship. But..we're..we're working through it.”

Topanga smiled a little, nodding her head. “Well, I'm glad to hear you guys are working through it. However, I wish you would've came to me sooner”

Katy placed Charlotte back into Topanga's arms and was now holding Noah. “Trust me, I wanted to, but you had a lot going on too with the babies coming and everything. I didn't want to burden you with my problems”

“You are never a burden to me, Katy” Topanga reassured her with a gentle squeeze to her best friend's hand. The blonde smiled graciously in return.

The recovery suite was quiet, cozy, and smelled of various flowers. It was so cozy that Katy found herself beginning to doze off on the couch near Topanga's bed.

“Katy, honey? You should go get some rest. I'll call you when I'm home with the twins” said Topanga.

Katy nodded, smiling to herself about the fact that Topanga, the woman who had just gone through 25 hours of labor, was telling Katy she needed rest.

“I'll see you soon. And congratulations again” said Katy as she said goodbye to the twins and then Topanga with a kiss on the cheek.

As she left the room, Katy went into her purse to retrieve her cell phone which revealed a few missed calls and texts from Bobbie Jo. A pang of guilt swept through Katy for forgetting to call and let her know what happened. After graciously allowing Katy and her son to stay with her when she didn't have to, Katy knew she deserved a lot  better.

Shawn was still in the lobby waiting when Katy walked in. Once he noticed her, stood up and walked towards his wife. He gently held her waist, placing a soft kiss on her lips. “Hey.”

Katy found herself once again entranced by his piercing blue eyes. “Hey, Shawn. Wh-where’d everybody go?”

“Well, Cory went to drop the kids off at home so they could rest up a little and then he'll be back here. The rest of the family is there too for now”

“Oh, that's good” said Katy with a smile.

“Yeah. So, are you coming home? I was thinking we could spend the rest of the  day together, you know, talk about stuff..” replied Shawn, now holding both of her hands.

Katy squeezed his hands and let out a soft sigh. “I'd love that. But first I have to go back to Bobbie Jo’s place and make sure everything’s good. I forgot to even tell her I was coming here and now I feel really bad."

Shawn stepped closer to Katy, the smile never fading on his lips. “I completely understand. Go ahead and talk to your friend. I'll be at home waiting for you”

Relieved, Katy wrapped her arms around Shawn's neck and planted a slightly longer kiss to his lips. Their lips lingered when pulling away, a silent yet strong way of saying "I've really missed this"  “I'll see you at home”

When she parted ways with Shawn, the thought of her family being at home waiting for her stirred up a warm feeling inside that she hadn't felt in so long, the feeling was indescribable but welcomed.
