A/N: Thank you to scomiche.strawberry on Instagram for this idea/prompt! I loved it somaj I had to write it 🙊

Mitch is an alien sent on earth to learn about human emotions. But what if he stays long enough to actually feel them?

_

"Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi, are you ready for your mission?"

I nod. I'm absolutely ready to make a progress in science. This - I look down at myself - my new suit, as the scientists call it, looks amazing. I was put into what they say looks like an average, 25 year old human, male body. My new identity is Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi, a human name apparently. I don't know anything about humans, but damn, if my body is average then they look good. For whatever reason I was the chosen one, picked by the scientists to explore the earth and learn more about humans, especially their emotions. Up to this day, scientists cannot figure out how emotions work - humans are truly complicated beings.

They sit me into the TPM, a machine made for teleportation. They said they picked someone out for me, someone to learn from, someone to observe and find out about. Apparently, his name is Scott Richard Hoying, another 25 year old male. He's a college student, unable to afford an apartment by himself so he's looking for a roommate. I'm going to apply, and we'll see where that brings us. I try not to think too much, though, focusing on my quest. I have to pose as a human being. I've never seen one before, well except for my new body, this could be quite interesting... I focus on Scott Richard Hoying, trying to be teleported into his vicinity, when everything goes white and there's a high pitched screech.

I hear the fall more than I feel it. It feels like landing on a soft pillow, but when I reach out my hands to feel my surroundings I'm surprised to find out the ground is hard and not giving in one bit. I blink, ugh, the light is so blinding. Why is it so bright? On my planet, there's a thick atmosphere making it always nice and dark. In fact, I can see perfectly in the dark, but now-

I hear footsteps before I feel someone staring at me.

"Why- why are you naked?"

I blink. I can't see anything, except for a big silhouette hovering over me.

"What?" I croak. My voice sounds different, holy shit.

"Why are you here? In my apartment? Naked?"

Naked?

"I'm always naked, what do you mean?"

My eyes are slowly starting to adjust and I see a human. He has lighter hair, lighter skin and lighter eyes than me. Besides, there are some weird layers wrapped around his body. Why isn't he naked?

"Are you Scott Richard Hoying?" I squint my eyes.

"I... am? Who are you? And Jesus Christ put some clothes on!"

He leaves me for a moment before he comes back with one big piece of fabric and wraps it around my waist. He secures it and makes sure it doesn't fall. I wonder why he's so keen on covering exactly that piece of my body.

"So," he begins. "Who are you?"

"I'm D- Mitchell Coby Michael Grassi," I say. Phew, almost told him my real name.
