A/N: I know I've been gone for a while and I'm coming back with the final chapter but here we go. I have no remorse for my readers because I had to write the damned thing. Anyway, We've got Summer Never Came SayWeCanFly above plus some Malec.

Please, if you've enjoyed this story then look into reading my other one called Saving The Lightwood or my one-shot series that's got Malec, a bit of Clace and a bit of Heronstairs but mainly Malec.

Also, leave a suggestion for me as to what you guys would like to see me write. Leave me a suggestion of a plot and I might just follow through with it. Anyway, thank you for sticking with me and here's the final chapter.

Magnus sat in the New York institute, in Alec's room, coincidentally, staring out onto the street below from the window above Alec's bed. It was a beautiful view of night time New York. Magnus watched as cars, busses, people, taxis and a whole manner of other vehicles passed by the Institute whilst Magnus went completely unnoticed by the mundanes. Magnus couldn't help but feel cheated. Alec had this beautiful view and Magnus looked out of his own bedroom window and saw trees and fighting Downworlders.

He'd been so stupid. It was his fault. Alec's blood was on his hands. If he hadn't of made that dumb deal those seven hundred years ago then Alec would still be alive. All those people he'd killed would still be... alive...

Magnus buried his head in his hands as a tear escaped from his eye and stayed like that for a while, thinking about how much of a failure he'd become. He'd killed his Alec. The one person he'd actually properly loved other than Camille. But he doesn't consider Camille anymore.

There was a quiet knock on the door and Magnus raised his head. It was Jace. His eyes were bloodshot and heavily bagged. His skin was washed out but his cheeks held colour from tears. His hair was sticking up all over the place and his hands were shaking violently. In short, Jace looked rough. He also seemed alarmingly thinner than Magnus remembered. He gave Magnus a forced smile. "May I?" he croaked out. Magnus nodded and gestured to the bed he was sat on. Jace entered the room and sat beside him.

"You haven't been sleeping, have you?" Magnus pointed out. Jace shook his head, maintaining the forced smile. "Or eating?" Jace once again shook his head, his bottom lip starting to tremble. "Training?" The same response met him but the smile fell. Magnus sighed heavily. "Damn it, Jace!"

"I know I should but... I can't. I... I don't want to." he stuttered out.

"Why?"

"You know why," Jace grumbled, inhaling and exhaling shakily as he, Magnus assumed, try to prevent more tears. "Alec is..." he cut himself off abruptly. "Was," he forced, "my Parabatai. I'm not going to be training any time soon."

"I don't care about the training." Magnus pointed out, turning slightly to look directly at Jace. It was at that moment when Magnus noticed that Jace's entire body was shaking violently. Tears were steadily flowing freely down his face as he didn't even make an attempt to stop them. "I know you don't want to hear this but Alec wouldn't want you to punish yourself for what happened. You have to stay healthy. For him."

Jace made to retaliate but Magnus interrupted him. "Ah! I know you blame yourself. I recognise the signs because I've seen them in myself. It's not your fault. If it's anyone's fault, it's mine."

The pair fell silent for a while, looking around Alec's room at his belongings. "It's weird, being in here while Alec isn't."

"What do you mean?" Magnus asked.

"Well, I always respected his privacy. If he wasn't in here then I wouldn't go in. He did the same for me, I hope."

Magnus nodded with a smile. "Yeah, I remember him telling me about the pact he made when he was thirteen about never going into each other's rooms when the other wasn't there."
