"Of course!" He answered, I was slowly getting excited for the night. I was beginning to think that it was going to be fun, but as mother-I guess that's what you'd call me- I was still worried. Although, I hadn't went out to a restaurant since Aiden became my responsibility. "Where is it again?-The restaurant." I asked Lui, he smiled, "Just up ahead, If you blink you miss it!" I began to keep my eyes pealed. "Oh, so it's a small place? It's not gonna be jammed-packed, is it?" My concern grew, if it was packed full, Aiden could easily get lost. "No, it's actually pretty big-bigger than most places. What I mean is; the restaurant's parking lot is never full, so you might not notice it." Lui pointed to the old rusted sign that had yellow hand-painted writing. 'Dinner & A show!' I pulled in.
Lui had told me that he was meeting one of his friends and his friend's girlfriend. When we walked in, I noticed that someone was on stage singing, he sounded surprisingly good. Then we got we got waved down by his friend. I put Aiden down to let him walk. "Good to see you again, Levi! This is my dear friend, Elena, and her son Aiden." Lui pointed turned toward me, Levi held out his hand, I shook it. "Nice to meet you, Elena." Him and I shared a smile. He had brown hair a slight goatee and thick dark grey glasses. He looked very smart, and you could barley see his muscles. "You too." His girl friend stood up, and oh, dear...
His girl friend had on the most make-up I had ever seen, and it wasn't complementing her, at all. Her fake eye lashes were way too long, and her hair was dyed. Hot pink. "Ah, right, this is my girl friend, Shaniqua." Lui and I exchanged looks out of the corner of our eyes, Aiden lost all control and started laughing so hard his little face turned red, "Omigard! I told you kids love me, Levi!" We all sat down at a round booth. A waitress watched us like a hawk until we did, then she ran over to us, "Hi, I'm Karen, I'll be serving y'all today. What can I get cha' to drink?"
All of us ordered soda, I even let Aiden get a Canada Dry. "So, like, what about the karaoke?" Shaniqua asked, looked from Aiden-who was still die- laughing- to Levi. "Well, there's a person behind the stage, and you just go up to them, tell them the song you want to sing, and they write your name down on the list. When they call your name you go on stage." Levi answered her, as the waitress came back with our drinks. "Are y'all ready to order?"
