When the waitress brought out our food, I was over whelmed with a great, delicious smell of meat, onions, spices, potatoes, and vegetables. Karen sat down our plates, "Enjoy!" She said and walked away. Levi turned his attention back to Shaniqua, "So, are you planning to sing?" He asked, "Oh, I don't know! I don't have anything in mind that I'd sing." While I blowing on Aiden's steak to cool it down, I saw the waitress start to strut back over. "I almost  forgot, do any of you want to sing?-It would be a perfect time to sign up." Shaniqua jumped up and ran over to the boy with the sign-up sheet, so fast that I barley caught a glimpse of her doing it. " 'I don't have any in mind that I'd sing.' " Lui giggled. "So, Levi, how did you and Shaniq...Shani- her, meet?" I asked, I did know how to say her name, it was just that it's such a rediculo-I mean unique, that I didn't want anyone to over hear me actually  know  how to say it. No offense to any Shaniquas out there...

"Well, we met at her job, she's a make-up artist, and I went there with my sister when she had to get her make-up for her wedding. Her and I started talking and...Here we are! I know her make-up is a little,...odd, but she can do other  peoples make-up quite well." Interesting.

"Hey, Shaniquas on stage!" Lui said pointing, I sat Aiden on my lap so he could see the show, he still had his steak in his hand. (The whole steak.) And was munching on it. 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga came on and Shaniqua started singing. Aiden stopped laughing at her wacky appearance, and dropped his steak, then covered his ears. Some people were laughing, others were in awe, and some one's baby was squalling. "O-Oh, my..." Levi said, turning around to face Lui and I. "She's joking, right?" I asked more to myself than anyone, "I sure hope so." Lui said, his mouth hanging half open.

When she was done everyone clapped, but not because they enjoyed, because it was over. Aiden started tearing his steak up again, and Shaniqua sat down, feeling loved by the people in there. "So, how was I?" At first we were all quiet, then all at the same time, we answered "You were great!" She giggled, "Should I sing another song?" The people sitting at the table beside us answered, "No."

"Peponi" is a swahili word meaning "Paradise"
