I started driving, almost home when my phone rung. I didn't know the number so I sent him/her to voicemail. when I pulled up to the driveway the number called again. so this time I answered.

me: "hello"

???: "wassup ma"

when I realized who's voice it was I almost crashed into the garage

me: "August how did you get my number?"

August: "lani gave it to me, she Said you wouldn't mind"

me: "well I do mind and I will like it If you deleted my number and not call me again"

I hung up the phone and I turned the car off. I walked into my house and took off my Jordan's then I went to the bathroom. I filled the tub with bubbles, then I stripped and got in. I closed my eyes and reminisced about August, I thought of the good days when we walked down the hallways

of Worthing high school hand in hand. I also remembered how he made it well known that I was his. but then I remembered how he promised me that he was going to be there for me and love me forever,when he gave me the ring and said no matter what, there will always be a place for me. then he left, with everything I had to give. the ring is connected to a necklace in my jewelry box. yes, I still have it.

I got out of the tub and dried myself, then put on my bath robe. after I put the final touches on the video I decided to call him back. after the third ring he answered.

August: "well this is a surprise"

me: "don't get use to it"

August: "haha okay, what's up"

me: "well I just finalized your video and it's hot"

August: " you mean I'm hot, right?"

me: "whatever helps you sleep at night"

August: " are you busy tomorrow?"

I didn't answer immediately because I didn't know what to say.

August: "hello"

me:" yeah I'm here um, meet me by Popeyes tomorrow at 8, don't be late"

I hung up the phone before he could say anything else.

I turned the lights off and fell peacefully to sleep.

I woke up around 10, I didn't have nothing to do so I called lani and coco and we went to the cafe next to sacs 5th ave. we seated outside and talked about their favorite topic... my life

coco: "gurl you ain't have sex in how long, child I need it everyday?"

lani: "you can't blame her, August was special to her"

coco: "I'm just saying without the Ding, mama don't sing"

me: "girl you don't sing anyways"

coco: "I do when I see the Ding!"

we all started laughing and coco started singing

coco: "la la la la lalala laaaa"

we turned around to see why she was singing and to my surprise, well it wasn't really a surprise when I turned and saw August walking towards us. actually I was kind of happy to see him.

I greeted him warmly

"Hey August what's up?"

he smiled and said

"what's up ma"

I unexpectedly hugged him, well I shocked myself"

"Hey, I said meet me at 8 not 10 in the morning"

he smirked and said

"well I couldn't wait to see you"

August and I walked to his Ashton and I got in the passenger seat, when August got in he placed one hand on the wheel and one hand on my thigh.

"can you not"

I said with a frown

"aye I'm sorry ma"

he removed his hand and started laughing

"You are just like you were when we first met"

"I don't want to talk about when we first met"

he gives me a puzzled look

" why?, I enjoyed our relationship"

I looked down

"August stop,you know what you did tore me apart, you didn't call, make sure I was alright. I COULD HAVE DIED FOR ALL YOU CARE!!"

I know that put him in his feelings but he really needed that

" look lisha, every day since that day I've thought of how much I hurt you, but it was better for the both of us this way. you have grown so much from that experience and I can tell because of how independent you are, and how much of a strong woman you've become"

I didn't respond, because I honestly didn't know what to say. what do you say in a situation like this?

I'm just going to enjoy this ride and see where he takes me.
