Sincere

The door of Kay's apartment swung open and Quincy stood in front of us with a frown on his face. I tried being happy for Effrin today because I knew it was going to be a rough day but seeing Quincy over here got my blood boiling, like the first time I spotted him at her house. My smile turned into a frown, quite like the one on his face.

"I see you're still laying up with your own," I mumbled pushing past him but he grabbed on to my wrist, pulling me back to him. "You don't even understand what's going on Sincere. You never gave me a chance to explain, so don't get upset."

"How can I not get upset when my brother is sleeping around with a dead beat Mother, who's hated me for years and walked out on her son? You're just as much of a piece of shit as she is," I spat.

"I'm not even sleeping with her!" He yelled. "Then why are you constantly over her house like you are? Don't lie to me Q, I know you're sleeping up with a damn hoe. Don't think about bringing your ass back to my house too. I don't want your dirty ass staying up in my house." He sighed and continued holding a firm grip on my arm.

"How could you kick me out over a misunderstanding?" He asked, confused. "Because you fucked me over Quincy. You're the only person in the family that I trusted but you fucked me over just like the rest of them. You're just like all of them Q and I'm selling the house anyways." "Why? You just moved in a couple of years ago."

"I know but I'm moving in with someone else." He raised an eyebrow and folded his arms across his chest. "By someone else, you mean Effrin, right?" He asked, stating the obvious. I nodded my head, yes, and raised my now, not so empty ring finger, where the rock sat that Effrin gave me last night. "We're getting married  Q, plus I want to help him take care of Deonte."

He sighed and shook his head. "I'm not even gon' complain about that, 'cause you're not going to listen to me but can I at least explain to you about what I'm doing over here? You're my favorite sister, so you know I just can't have you walking away from me but I really can't have you upset with me about something so stupid," He said.

I sighed. "Call me tonight and we can do lunch tomorrow because I'm kind of busy right now." He nodded his head. "Alright. I'll give you a call tonight Sincere," He said, sticking his hands in his pockets. I sighed and tried looking everywhere but where he was. "Um I guess I'm gonna head out of here. I'll call you." "Alright," I mumbled, watching him walk down the steps of Kay's apartment building.

I sighed and walked inside of Kay's apartment to hear her and Effrin yelling at each other. I sighed and closed the door behind myself before making my way to where their screams were coming from.

"Just take his shit and leave Effrin!" Kay yelled, tossing Deonte's suitcases and bags towards Effrin who was dodging each and every one of them. "I still can't believe your trifling ass is just gonna walk out on your son." "I'm leaving because I'm tired of being the only one who gives a damn. Don't you think it's time that you stepped up and become a Father?" She asked.

"He is a Father and a damn good one at that," I spoke up. She turned to me and scoffed. "Why'd you bring this bitch up in my house Effrin? You know I don't like her." "I don't give a fuck who you don't like Kay and don't call her a bitch no more either," Effrin replied.

"Whatever. Just get this shit and get out. I need to get Deonte from school soon." "I thought I was getting Deonte from school today since you wanted to walk out," Effrin said. "No. I'm getting my son from school today before I leave. I need to talk to him about a few things before I leave anyways. I'll drop him off by your house tonight."
