Sincere

It seemed like this four hour ride to Las Vegas would never end but at least I was spending it with Effrin and the kids who were already asleep. I'm sure they had a long day at school and if this was any regular day they would have taken their naps already but now they're sleep and have been sleeping for the past hour or so.
"Baby," I leaned closer to Effrin, who had been focused on the rode these past two hours.
"What's up? You good?"
"Mhmm. Do you think we could still have a reception when we get back home? I mean, everybody's gonna want to hear our vows and celebrate with us before we go on our honeymoon. Do you think that's a good idea?" I asked him.
He nodded his head. "Of course. You know Mama already wants to throw us a big wedding. Don't be upset but I told her. You know she'd be freaking out if all of us and the kids just disappeared but she promised not to tell anybody."
"Alright," I mumbled, sitting back in my chair. "When did you tell her?"
"A few days ago. I was telling her how long it was taking to get married and she's the one who suggested to get eloped. We can always come back and do it again at home but I just wanted to get married to you before too much time passed by. You feel me?" He asked.
"Yeah, I feel you. I just hope this is a good idea."
He looked over at me and smiled before grabbing my hand. "Of course it is. You aren't having second thoughts, are you?" He asked.
I smiled and shook my head. "No. I'm just a little nervous. You know all of the shit we put each other through, what if we break up again? It's not gonna be easy once we're married."
"I know but we have to work through our shit. If we're married, we're staying married no matter what. We just need to get through things like adults because we're not going to break up over some silly shit. We're in this forever Sincere."

"Mama?" Victoria asked walking into the bathroom of the hotel we were in.
There was only one room in the suite we were in. We only planned on staying here just to get married and sleep. By the time tomorrow afternoon came we were going to be back on the rode back home so we could share the news with everybody, who had been blowing up our phones all evening wondering where we were at.
I looked away from the mirror from doing my hair and glanced down at her. "What's up baby?"
"What's going on? Why are we here? Where are we at?" She questioned.
I smiled. "Mommy and Daddy are going to get married tonight."
"Oh. Where are we at?"
"We're in Las Vegas," I replied. "Do you still know how to be the flower girl?"
She smiled and nodded her head. "Yeah. All I have to do is throw the flowers on the ground before you walk in. It's easy."
"Alright," I smiled. "I just hope you don't get nervous."
She smacked her lips. "I never get nervous Mama. Are you nervous?" She asked as I curled the last piece of my hair. I ran my fingers through it and fluffed it out, just the way Effrin liked to see me wearing it, without the weave.
"A little."
"Why?" She asked as I sat her down on the sink so I could do her hair.
I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know but just know you'll probably be nervous on your wedding day too baby."
