The lair began to shake as Magnus strained to heal Luke, the blue energy continuously streaming from the warlock's extended hands.

"I'm running out of magic," Magnus said.

"What do I do?" Clary asked frantically.

"I can't leave him, but the potion stock still needs Komodo Scale," Magnus told the younger red head. "Find it, add the rest when they get here. You'll have to feed it to Luke."

"What about you?" Nyx asked, rushing next to her sister to help her in any means possible.

"I'll hold on as long as I can!" Magnus shouted, clenching his teeth at the effort it took for him to use this much energy. "Go!" Clary rushed out of the room, but Nyx hesitated. Seeing how Magnus was falling over, she was about to run towards him when Alec suddenly ran inside, rushing to Magnus's side and holding him up. Smiling slightly, Nyx opted to give them some space as she found her sister near the bowl.

"Clary!" Jace yelled, him and Simon rushing through the doorway and making their way towards the redhead.

"Do you have it?" Clary asked anxiously.

"Yeah," Jace took out a small pouch and gave it to her, who quickly threw it to Nyx as she was closer. The older redhead dumped it inside the bowl, stirring the thick white substance and then pouring it into a glass, handing it over to Clary once she was done. Clary rushed towards Luke and gently lifted his head, helping him drink the potion that should save his life.

It worked almost instantly. The lair stopped shaking and Luke's panting ceased, bringing an end to Magnus's spell, finally able to diminish the blue energy. Magnus closed his eyes and fell back into Alec, exhaustion written clear on his face.

"Hey, Clary," Luke smiled.

"You okay?" Alec asked Magnus, who looked up at him and nodded tiredly.

"Yeah."

Later on, Nyx was on her phone, her eyes following the moving tracker on the map displaying on the screen, her eyebrows furrowing as she thought of where and why the person was going were they were going.

"Why are you headed towards the institute?" Nyx asked to herself in a low voice, not wanting to catch the attention of he sister who was leaning on the back of the couch Nyx was on, her expression showing the she was thinking. Alec, appearing in the doorway, looked hesitant to enter, but did just for the reason to grab a couple of books he needed. Walking in, he paid no mind to the redheads and headed directly to where he needed to go, and then turned around, about to leave when Clary began speaking to him.

"Alec, wait," the older Shadowhunter stopped and looked down on her, his expression guarded. "If you hadn't gotten here in time, I...I'm just...I'm glad you and Jace are okay now."

"I didn't do this for Jace," he told her with a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

"Then I'm glad you did it for you," Clary smiled widely. Jace, now appearing in the doorway, walking towards Alec, accepting the handshake his parabatai had offered and then pulling him into a short hug.
