While Clary and Luke were out scouring Renwick, and Jace and Micheal went to train at the back of the restaurant, Nyx left a note on the table they were occupying and exited out to start the trek back to the Institute. She was probably gonna hear a lot of shit from her sister and Luke by leaving all of a sudden, but she couldn't stay there anymore- she couldn't do nothing anymore. She knew that Isabelle was back at the Institute, and knowing Lydia, she was probably being used as the Clave's scapegoat. Nyx did not like that and had developed a soft spot for Isabelle, so she had to be there for her, even if it meant getting arrested herself. Again.

The walk was quiet. Long. Painful. Her vision kept blurring in and out of focus, she could feel herself weakening. Again. The healing rune clary drew on her hours ago could only do so much. She needed to activate the rune again because she could feel the wound throbbing, the skin contracting and bleeding. Her blood was on fire and she could see the black substance fog up the veins in her arms. She was weak. She was changing. She could feel it. Nyx didn't know if the others were going to accept her because it's clear that whatever was in her veins wasn't human or angelic by any means.

Nyx could not believe herself. How could she have been so weak-- so pathetic in letting herself be captured by scum circle members? How could she have let Valentine inject her, experiment on her? She's been in impossible situations before, way more impossible than the little kidnapping, and she rose victorious each time. Except for this time. Why? How? She didn't know. There was no excuse either. She was weak and that was the end of it. God, she wanted to hit something right now. Sighing quietly to herself, she caught sight of the Institute and immediately, she knew something was up. Call it instinct, or her bullshit-meter, but something was happening that shouldn't be.

With great strength, she managed to open and close the gigantic doors without making a single sound, but figured she didn't have to because everyone was in the main Ops center, surveying what seemed to be a court trial. Seeing Izzy sitting next to each in the front row, Lydia in the row right next to her, and Magnus with his hands on what she recalled to be the Soul Sword, she knew what was happening. Izzy was on trial for Meliorn's escape.

"No argument from me on that," she heard Magnus say, his voice tinged with slight nervousness. The Silent Brother in front of him gave a nod and retreated into the corner by what looked like a throne. The woman sitting atop the high chair looked fierce and powerful. She might have been someone of high position to the Clave, just like Lydia.

"Make your case, warlock," the woman said coldly, her dark eyes glaring.

"My case is simple," Magnus began. "It is true that Isabelle Lightwood acted against the orders of the Clave by trying to free the Seelie, Meliorn, but she did not act against the interest of the Clave. Preventing the forced questioning and possible death of a Seelie may have saved the accords."

Nyx, while Magnus was presenting his case, slipped quietly into the room, staying in the shadows to keep hidden. She was suspected of treason as well. Her mind was racing, trying to think of ways to help Isabelle. She might have hated her brother as of the moment, but she learned to care for the younger Lightwood. Her fire and spunk reminded her of Clary, and she missed seeing something carefree and mischevious cut through the darkness of the world.

"We are not here to speculate what might have happened if the defendant hadn't interfered," the woman replied, her eyes stopping from an eye roll.

"You mean what might have happened if she hadn't stopped the Silent Brothers from torturing an innocent Seelie?" Magnus questioned, his face hard and annoyed. There was no use trying to drill some sense into the woman. She was the current face of the Clave, and the Clave were ignorant people.
