It was evening and Meera and I were done with resting though we were still jet lagged. Meera decided to take up a meeting but then I suggested her to go out for a ride if she wanted or just set back and enjoy the massages offered in this hotel.
She chose the latter and accompanied me to the car from where Mark and I headed to Shreyasi's house. After a one hour journey, we reached her place only after crossing Malhotra Empire Headquarters.
I didn't want to face it. Not even the gate and so I just turned my head away. After meeting Shreyasi and her parents, I felt like finally I was going to be okay. It wasn't that bad as an idea and I can get over some parts of everything related to my past but I was terribly wrong. My past was not going to leave me that easily. It is going to haunt each and every nerve ending of mine.
It was five hours since I had been out to meet Shreyasi and her family. The welcoming was awesome. We had chatted like dogs for three hours. I had my dinner there itself so I was already full.
It was ten at night when I returned and for me, that was late in Delhi because after that horrifying incident with Zara and me, I never kept late outside and the exceptions were always made with Arjun because I felt protected with him. It is not just an emotional connect but a factual thing about Arjun that he was a boxing champion and a karate black belt.
I was hell tiered and I wanted to just sleep and relax. The wedding functions were beginning from day after tomorrow and I still had a day in hand to prepare everything Indian style. I had attended a few Indian weddings outside India, the destination ones but I knew this wasn't just an Indian wedding but a big fat Indian wedding which was going to be a star studded affair since both Shreyasi and Veer are famous celebrities.
The moment I entered my suite and switched on the lights after putting the card in the main frame, my mind went blank and I stood there rooted like a plant in the hard black soil.
What the hell is this?
I was kind of shocked. The room was decorated with my favorite red roses and the bridge my nose wrinkled when the scent of those pretty roses filled my nostrils.
Am I in the right room? I wondered as I checked the room number once again and confirmed that this was my room only and someone had invaded my suite. This sent bolts of electrical shocks down my spine and all the hair on my body rose erect. The chilling waves of the centralised air conditioner confirmed that this room was in use for past whatever hours.
I slowly paced forward and entered the living area. I saw candles burning there...they seemed to look like freshly lit. I started getting hell scared and the moment I entered my bedroom, I saw the most beautiful yet the scariest decoration done. I started panting for breath and my hands started trembling as I reached for the intercom and dialed Meera's room number.
She didn't answer and that's when I dialed for the reception fearing there was someone suspicious in my room and certainly the person knew me because of my favorite flower choice.
Once I also thought it must be Meera but Meera isn't the kind of girl who would do such cheesy stuffs just to scare you. She is the most easy going person with the best wit and humour. She can't do anything like this. Had it been Mahira, I could have even given it a serious thought but I was sure it wasn't Mahira in any case since she doesn't even know if I am dead or alive.
"This is Amanda from the reception ma'am, how can I help you?" A lady's voice came from the receiver's end and I breathed a sigh.
"This is Amaya Vanishree from room number 1012. May I know if someone had an access to my room in past five hours?" I enquired formally. I firstly wanted to confirm that if the person had officially signed into my room.
