The Story of Dani

Gym Class

-Football Field-

All of us are standing waiting for Coach Sylvester to get back she had to get some stuff. I keep glancing over at Santana she is talking to Quinn and some guy with a Mohawk. I look away when she looks over at me man what is happening to me. I look around and I see a brunette with a tall guy they are laughing together.

Santana: That is Rachel and Finn.

I jump a little and look at Santana who is smiling.

Dani: They are cute together.

Santana: They are okay.

Coach Sylvester comes back she is holding a box she sets it down on a bench.

Coach Sylvester: Listen up you guys will be playing flag football today.

I smile and some people groan.

Coach Sylvester: Yeah yeah I know it’s so horrible well suck it up. The team captains are going to be Hendricks and Fabray.

Quinn and I walk to the front.

Coach Sylvester: Hendricks you will be a jersey and white flags Fabray you will be red flags.

She tosses me a red jersey I put it on and hands us our flags with belts the both of us puts them on.

Coach Sylvester: Fabray you pick who you want on your team first.

Quinn smiles and points at Santana

Quinn: Santana.

I point at Finn.

Dani: Uh you.

Finn walks up to me and gives me a high five.

Finn: I’m Finn.

Dani: Dani.

Quinn picks next than I go I end up with Finn, Rachel, Tina, Kurt, and Blaine. Quinn gets Sam, Puck, Santana, Mercedes, and Mike. Artie and Brittany didn’t get picked because they are the refs. Coach Sylvester blows her whistle and we start to play. By the end of the game my team is down five points if we make a touchdown we win man Quinn is good at this game. My team has the ball and we are huddled up together we are all dirty what was supposed to be flag football became touch football so our uniforms are kind of dirty I look around at me team I look in the faces that are dirty.

Finn: What are we going to do captain?

Dani: Well they are going to except us to throw the ball to you Finn.

Blaine: That’s what we’ve been doing all this game.

Dani: I think that it’s time to change it up.

I start to talk and we break. We line up and I say hike I see Quinn running at me I spin to avoid her I throw the football and Rachel catches it as I get hit really hard by Quinn I fall to the ground and have a hard time breathing she knocked the wind out of me. I feel someone pull me up and it’s Santana.

Santana: Hey you all right?

I nod cause I can’t speak I hear cheering and a whistle blow I look up all my teammates come running up to me and we all hug.

Coach Sylvester: Congrats Hendricks.

Dani: Thanks coach.

Coach Sylvester: All right everyone hit the showers.

All of us head to the showers I am stopped by a woman.

Coach Beiste: Hi I am Coach Beiste and I am the football coach here. I couldn’t help but notice you out there playing today and I think that you were great. I need someone like you on my team.

Dani: I don’t know Coach Beiste I’m not sure if I want to be on a team with just guys.

Coach Beiste: Just think about it.

Dani: Okay. I’m Dani by the way.

Coach Beiste: Nice to meet you Dani and remember just to think about it.

Dani: I will.

I smile and walk off.

-Girl’s Locker Room-

I enter the locker room and I hear a shower going and singing I slowly make my way to the showers and see Santana showering she is singing “Genie in a Bottle By: Christina Aguilera”

The singing stops and the water stops so I quickly go to my locker and grab my clothes. I see Santana from the corner of my eye she is in a towel.

Santana: So did you like the view?

I look at her and raise my eye brow.

Santana: I know that you were looking at me while I was in the shower.

I start to turn red and I look down.

Dani: I…I…I didn’t mean to look I mean it’s not that…you aren’t attractive or anything I just heard singing and I wanted to know who it was when I saw it was you I couldn’t help myself and look.

Santana: Well if it was anybody else checking me out while I was in the shower I would have totally flipped out on them, but since you are new here I’ll give you a break.

She winks at me I blush a little.

Dani: Thanks.

Santana: You’re welcome. Why don’t you take a shower than I will show you to the cafeteria?

Dani: All right.

I grab my clothes and a towel I go to the showers after I am done I put my hair up and walk out of the locker rooms.

-Hallway-

Santana is leaning against the wall texting when she sees me she puts her phone away and smiles at me I smile back. We head to the cafeteria and get in line we get our food and we go our separate ways she sits with the cheerleaders and I look around. I see Finn waving he is sitting with Rachel, Artie, Mercedes, Kurt, and Blaine.

Finn: Hey D, over here.

I smile he called me D. I walk over to the table Kurt makes room for me and I sit.

Rachel: Hi.

Dani: Hi Rachel.

Mercedes: I don’t think that we have officially metI am Mercedes.

Dani: Dani.

Mercedes and I shake hands.

Artie: I’m Artie.

Dani: Nice to meet you.

Rachel: So where are you from?

Dani: Texas.

Rachel: That’s cool.

Rachel smiles at me and we continue to talk all through the lunch.
