Cast to the side--->
Chapter 4
...Different Crowds and Crimson Blushes...
"Hey, Donovan." I greeted walking up behind him and leaning on the locker beside him. The intense burning and pressure I felt in my ankle was taken off immediately and I felt like letting out a moan of happiness for a second but thought otherwise due to the fact that people were already staring and I didn't like the thought of the whole world knowing about the unpleasant feeling I was experiencing. That would show weakness and I don't do weakness.
I had barely escaped Maurice's questioning yesterday by pretending that I needed to take Tate to the doctor. Of course the rest of the day from five to seven I had a fight that I'd rather not bring up. Let's just say she lost a few teeth and I have a couple new scars and more food in our fridge.
"H-hi Auden." He greeted. Obviously he didn't expect me to show up and socialize with him but I honestly didn't give a shit. Ryder was out sick, which is basically code word for stoned and I'd rather not have a conversation with people who'd rather stare at my body.
He turned back to his locker and grabbed his Geometry book and a few notebooks before shutting it. He looked deep in thought as he stared at the forest green locker and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Well," I started knowing that he wouldn't have said anything otherwise. He looked up at me, as if surprised by my presence, his coffee-colored eyes with alarm in them. "I was thinking, since I barely know you and I've asked you out already that we should get to know each other a little better." I said to try to ease the tension.
He gave off a stiff nod.
"W-what class do you have next?" He stuttered cocking his head to the side. This action made me smile at his resemblance of a puppy.
"Were in the same class." I stated matter-of-factly and he furrowed his eyebrows once again.
"I-I'm sorry. I just n-never s-s-see you." He rushed out, his eyes wide and lips slightly parted looking as if he had wet his pants at a social event. I popped a bubble of gum in my mouth before laughing at the scared look he had on his face.
"No sweat. I never show up anyways." I just shrugged stifling my laughter that threatened to be released at the sight of the relief that flashed across his face when I uttered those words.
"So... Donny. It's okay if I call you Donny right?" I 'asked' trying to seem polite even though I would call him that anyway.
He nods.
"Why are your friends looking at me like I've grown two heads?" I asked smirking. He stares at me for a moment before I gesture over his shoulder where a girl with beautiful mid-back length blonde hair and a yellow sundress awaits clutching her books tightly to her chest. She stares at me with a glare. Beside her is a small boy who couldn't have been over 4'11, with fire engine red hair, and freckles standing with his jaw gaping, exposing his green braces, blinking multiple times at the scene before him.
Donovan blushes at the sight. He bites his lip. "Well normally... W-we walk to Geometry t-together. Becky and Tobias, they haven't... They haven't seen you s-socialize with anyone except for Ryder." He excuses staring at the ground.
"Aw... Well we should change that." I said grabbing his wrist slightly. His eyes widen and the blush only becomes deeper.
"By the way...I love a boy who blushes." I whisper and his pink cheeks turn into a deep crimson. I yank on his wrist gently and guide him over to his friends, ignoring the pain that shot up my leg. His friends look at me. The girl who I presume is Becky shifts her gaze to my hands that lingers on Donovan's wrist whilst the boy's eyes widen slightly.
